Ok so my date with the scalpel went swimmingly. For those of you who are out of the loop I had a cutting done on my right pinky finger as a memorial to my grandfather. He was an engineer, and engineers in Canada wear an iron ring on that finger. Engineering was his passion in life and everythime I see an iron ring or hear about engineering I think of him. I wanted to have that part of him in a part of me. So I had a "ring" cut into my finger, when it heals a faint white scar will be all that remains. Matt Cottrell did the cutting, and it only took about a minute of actual cutting time. We numbed my finger with EMLA cream since I was worried that I would flinh and screw up the cut. The sensation I felt can only be described as being scratched by a cat from the inside out, and Matt said it felt like he was cutting through leather with an exacto knife.
