Sitting here drinking Yerba Mate with soy milk and listening to Zap Mama sends me up and far away.
Back to those days of dancing and cooking with my sisters. A time where I could shut my eyes and see myself a thousand years earlier doing the same thing with my sisters in Africa. The same earthly scene played over and over again in life time after lifetime.
Casey lifts a wooden spoon towards me and gestures for me to taste. Not only is it delicious but the love in it sends shivers straight to my heart. I simply smile at her and continue to dance to the music. She smiles down at her spoon and continues stiring.
Ko'alani comes up behind me and lets my hair down and insists that I dance with her. So we dance. Our gaze fixed on each others eyes. Wide sparkling smiles on our faces. I close my eyes and spin off to dance on my own again.
I find myself outside. Wondering through the fruit trees. The bananas are ripe as well as the guavas, but the carambola has a little ways to go. The coconuts are prime for fresh sweet water and coconut jelly.
The simple beauty of the entire universe is so apparent in these moments that I am astonished at myself for ever missing it.

we are always connected to that beautiful source . we are that beautiful source. we are nature. directly. even that which we see that seems against nature. is all nature. everything comes from the earth. even synthetic chemicals. all we have to do is stop and breathe and remember that its those moments of feeling that deeper connection to everything that we are that makes life worth living
