Firt of all, a little survey thingie, copied from the lovely and faboolous Pygmy's journal.
A) First, recommend to me:
1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:
(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.
(C) Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends to ask you anything.
And now the normal blather.
Christmas, Greg and i went to his parents house on the 22nd through part of the 24th, drove back to corvallis and spent the 24th through 25th at my parents. All in all it was good and relaxing if not too much driving (5 hours each way to and from Boardman Oregon, on the 22nd and 24th. Blah.).....Greg's family is really hospitable.....like they all had presents for me even if it was all food since none of them knew what to get for me.....heh Greg got food from my family too. I guess that is what happens to boyfriends and girlfriends who don't see the respective families much! WE have a well stocked cupboard though!
It was so cold and crisp out in Boardman. It was entirely white with frost early in the mornings that we were there. The water trough in the goats pen had frozen over with almost and inch thick of ice. Gregs sister and brother are so hyper. His sister (his eldest sibiling) is 8 and his brother is 5. Chaos. And his parents always tell them "no" but never do anything about it. We got them a tetris TV game and i just wonder how long it will be until they break it. His sister did a cute Christmas tree drawing for me as a present. We went for Christmas dinner at Greg's grandma's house on the eve of the 23rd......there were a lot of cousings and aunts and uncles of greg there. Lots of kids in the family. All of them got styrofoam model wind up aeroplanes, i think i got hit in the head with them at least two times while opening presents. Even though it sounds chaotic, all in all it was relaxing....most of the time was spent away from kids, but it was uneventful.
We arrived at my parents house on the 24th pretty late(11 pm ish).....we intended to go to bed when we got there in order to be up by Breakfast time (our normal schedule has us going to be around 2 and waking up later than noon). Instead i stayed up til 3 finishing knitting my mom's present and wrapping all the boxes. I managed to wake up in time for breakfast anyway because of the incredible need to pee all the earl grey tea from the previous night and wee-morning hours. I didn't expect to get any presents other than my stocking, since for my big present my parents helped me out with Decembers rent. I did get a few things though, including Jon Stewart Presents America the Book: A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction, and the Medieval Baebes CD Worldes Blysse, both awesome, and more than i expected. I did not get a present made for my dad, but greg and i stopped by Powells on the drive back to Hardcorvallis, and picked him up a book. He liked it. and my brother and mum both loved their scarves, thankfully. that was so much effort making those things. Next year i guess i am going to star making presents in like, July or something.....aack.
New Years....i had no real plans....the day before the nice neighbor lady and i were hanging out, talking about maybe doing something, but we didn't really have any leads as to partys or shows or anything. So the afternoon of New Years day i made Christmas cookies with my mom, and in the evening Greg and i went and hung out with our neigbors. We watched Donnie Darko since they hadn't seen it yet, and the ball dropped sometimes during the movie because peeople started putting off fireworks in the street. Also, her friend stopped by during the movie, and told us about a show a few houses down, so after the movie we headed over........except everyone was already extremely drunk, the house was pretty packed, and it wasn't a very awesome scene.....on the porch i saw one of my co-workers who is pretty nasty making out really grossly with a gross guy....figures. We lost our neighbor and her friend she had brough with her once we got into the house through the throng of drunkies on the porch, so we circuited the inside of the house, found her within five minutes then left. There were a lot of people there i had gone to middle school with, i didn't go to public highschool, so whenever i see any of these people they always seem to ask things like "Where did you dissapear to?" "What have you been up to?" "Hows it going?" etc, and i really didn't want to deal with any assinine questions from people who don't give a shit about me, so it was nice to escape quickly. Thats about it. Oh yeah, we ate really tasty havarti with dill cheese and swiss portobello crem cheese dip at my neighbors house, and i drank cheap wine and greg drank martinellis. Damn that dip stuff was good.
Hmmmm, i saw Shawn of the Dead a few days ago and what can i say but is was fanfuckingtastic, go watch it, right now. I am going to buy that movie as soon as i can afford to. I love zombies. Have any of you zombie fans out there noticed the trend in zombie acting now a days? The boyfriend in Dawn of the Dead (who turns into a zombie late in the movie and leads the zombies to their hide out) was one of the best zombie actors i have ever seen. You know who i am talking about? Thhe guy who walks on his broken looking foot, with his eyes rolled up into his head? Yeah. He is awesome. Well i noticed in Shawn of the Dead just how many of the zombies did exactly that. So many things are (obviously) taken from or in homage to Dawn of the Dead in that movie, but it is awesome. Why do i love zombies so?
Right now i am eating cold spaghetti noodles. What are you doing with your mouth?
Ok.....i need to go home soon. tkae care.

1. Sideways: a limited release indie film
2. A Midnight Clear: A war story. Very honest and personal. An independant film based on the book was made.
3. Chavez: much better than average 90s alterna-rock.
As far as what I'm doing with my mouth: I have to move my lips while I type.
2. a book: Wintering by Kate Moses
3. a musical artist: Gogol Bordello
Three Questions:
1. What's your favorite cheese?
2. Can I have some cheese?
3. Do you hate smokers?
