The Cell is still one of the best films i've ever seen.
It gets a 9.
I've yet to see a 10.
There's a song by Gorillaz by the name of Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head, as read by Dennis Hopper.
I'm not shitting you, Dennis Hopper does some inane narrative about Happy Folks in Happytown and The Stangers who come to steal their...i forget what, but you get the point.
My only qualm about the song is Dennis Hopper.
Not that i have anything against the guy, he's just not the best actor. That and his voice isnt all that...soothing, it's kinda rough on the ears.
Here's a list of people that i'd rather have done the narration:
MALE
Vin Diesel
Morgan Freeman
Jared Leto
Johnny Depp
Denzel Washington
Dustin Hoffman
Forrest Whitaker
Billy Cruddup
Ewan McGregor
George Cloony
Ron Livingston.
FEMALE
Summer Phoenix
The chick from Romance
Julie Delpy
Helena Bonham Carter
The chick that does Faye's voice on the Cowboy Bebop dub
Josh Hartnett (not a girl, just thought of him)
Val Kilmer (again...)
Scarlett Johanson
Any of the Ckates
Kelly Macdonald
Paz Vega
Audrey Tautou
Winona Ryder
Gael Garcia Bernal (again, not a chick...)
Between Robert Rodreguez and Quentin Tarantino, Steve Guttenberg's comeback is right around the corner...
So here's the thing, i dont like getting up before noon. Most people hear this and say, That's so slothful, you're so lazy.
Which isnt totally Untrue...i mean, sometimes it takes me two days to do my laundryThat's how lazy i can be.
But that isnt the reason i dont like the world before noonin my many experiences, nothing good happens before noon.
That's Universal Truth #172.
Getting up early's for pussies, yuppies, and the military. Eheh.
But, yes, i'm also very lazy. I'm the kind of lazy where i walk past the stairs to take the elevator one floor up.
And if the elevator takes too long, i go ahead and take the stairs.
Because i'm not only lazy, but incredibly impatient as well.
I remember lazy days with a fondness one might have about their peak sports days.
I remember waking up and knowing i didnt have anything to do. Anything to worry about. No social obligations, no financial obligationsnothing.
I'd wake up when ever, and just laze around my room, never bothering to turn onna light. Smoke a few ciggies, maybe take a piss, but mainly just watch cartoons.
I'd take periodic naps, sometimes out of boredom, but it was the good kinda boredom, not the restless kind.
Sloth, definitely, is my favorite sin.
I guess that's one of the few things i have in common with weedheadsi lack motivation. I'm lazy.
But it pisses me off when people tell me that if i'd smoke less i'd have more energy. Be more motivated. Whatever.
It's bullshit.
First off, i dont smoke alotta reeferi just smoke it often.
Secondly, there's a period of years when i didnt touch the stuffand guess what?i was still lazy as hell.
I've not been a ball of energy since i was five.
I'm surrounded by idiots. These people are killing me. (i wrote this whilst sitting at a picnic table with five other people, 4 of which were talking on cell phones)
My mother's a wonderful person. She's a vegetarian ex-hippie who listens to industrial metal. She's an Anarchic Catholic Child of Science.
The constant pragmatist, she's always encouraging me to go back to school.

Whose gonna watch a movie about Peoria?
Be reasonabledo you really think you can make a living making movies?
She's very concerned with the tangible, if you cant tell. All people think when i tell them i'm a filmmaker is Hollywood.
That's kinda discouraging.
Oh yeah, and i think i'm in love.
There are countless ingredients that make up the human body and mind like all the components that make up me as an individual with my own personality. Sure I have a face and voice to distinguish myself from others but my thoughts and memories are unique only to me, and I carry a sense of my own destiny. Each of those things are just a small part of it. I collect information to use it in my own way. All of that blends to create a mixture that forms me and gives rise to my conscience. I feel confined, only free to expand myself within boundaries."

Don't ask me. I saw it at the nick. $4 before 4.
