Laura P's son-in-law is a producer for ESPN. This might be a connection i can...well, exploit, frankly. There's about a 20% chance that he'd be interested in producing an indie film. There's a possibility that he's somewhat bored in what he does and maybe wants to see what else is out there or whatever. He might be interested in making some bank off of this.
I hope so.
Next time i see LP i've gotta work my film making into a conversation. All casual like.
I've got a possible producer, possible distributor and a ton of bands willing to do a soundtrack. I've got someone willing to to do some art stuff for it, some promotion. I can write, direct, and edit.
I know some folks that might be interested in financing. Maybe. That's a big maybe.
Atom might be interested in being in it. Last time i spoke with him he was talking about doing a film by himself.
Now, only if he could act...
I could always get some drama rats from the college, maybe.
But, either way, i need actors.
I NEED actors.
I NEED actors.
The more i think about it, the less i wanna do to NEA thing. Or the NEH thing. Or anything that i need to be an organization to get funding from.
There's a fine line between a business venture and fraud.
Or so i'm finding out now.
S and i will prolly check it out still. He's still hellbent on the E3 thing.
J sez he'll cosign a loan for me. That'll keep the rates and such down. I'd much rather get the loan directly from J, god knows he can afford it.
But he's hesitant. I'm part time and if the film thing doesnt pan out, i'll be stuck paying him off till i'm 60.
but that's just for the camera...
i estimate about 20k to do a small film.
60-80 minutes long.
Something i can shoot guerrilla style.
Something i can shoot on a long weekend.
I've got most of the locations mapped out. When the weather clears...
editing will take 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how cooperative the dinosaur-esque programme i'm working with will allow me.
Maybe i'll just buy a new programme.
Vegas runs about 1k. That's with the authoring programme as well.
Heh.
Once the flick is done it's festival time, screener timetime to get spiffed up and shmooze.
And today, i woke up and thought, Now what?
Then i thought, Take a shower.
Then i thought, Smoke a cigarette, first...cause god knows how hard it is to smoke in the shower.
I finally learned what RAM means. And what it does. AAAAAAAND i understand it...unlike most computer shit.
This month's UIC core value is Honesty.
Definition: Integrity, trustworthiness, truthfulness.
Character traits: Ethical, trustworthy, truthful (and, apparently, monotony)
According to UIC, Honesty is the capacity of being honest!
The honesty test is as follows:
True Or False...
I am truthful, sincere and straightforward.
I don't lie cheat or steal.
I don't intentionally mislead others.
How'd you do?
The weather outside reminds me of The Ice Storm. I am sooooo leery of power-lines right now. I dont wanna be done in like Spider-man.
David's perfect girl...according to David.
She should look goth without being goth.
Look punk without being a punker.
Should like to fuck...but only him.
She should like other girls, but only the ones he approves of.
Subservient.
Smart, but not smarter than he is (so anyone with an IQ of over 70 is safe...)
Funny, but not funny enough to over shadow his humour (so anyone still a freshman in HS is fine)
Really, really, REALLY hot. Flawless, even.
Likes video games, but only the ones he likes.
She shouldn't mind being neglected because of games.
And she shouldn't hog the game.
And she shouldn't be able to kick his ass at the game.
Pretty much, he wants the chick to sit there and watch and be proud and impressed by his many gaming skillz...but not get down on him when he fucks up.
She should like-nay-LOVE sports. But not be better than he is.
She shouldn't be able to kick his ass.
Doesn't mind crude, childish, base, misogynist humour.
Wants a girl that knows how to take a punch (he didn't say that, but i know how he is.)
Can take honest criticism without biting my fucking head off.
What David wants, but isnt saying is, he wants a guy. When i offered this up, he said, No, i want a guy in a girls body.
If you've ever considered trying out for Girls Gone Wild, you're the perfect chick for David!
Sammy's list was nearly as long as David's at one time, but over years of trouble, he's settled on three things...
Hot.
Likes gaming.
Is not stupid.
He's said on a number of occasions, whilst under the influence, that i would make the perfect girl. You know...if i was a girl....ahem.
Guey'll take anything, really. As long as she's cute-ish. Asians preferred.
Millie has said that he wants a guy that plays games.
He said he meant girl, but whatever.
J was a bit more concise.
A sense of humour is a must. The bitch gotta have humour was the exact quote.
Someone like Elaine Benes from Seinfeld.
Intelligent.
Able to make a point without getting aggressive or fanatical.
And that's it. That's all J wants in a girl.
Although he's married. And i think these qualities are all qualities that his wife DOESN'T have.
Greg wants a kinky corporate chick.
A chick that remembers where she came from.
Someone that can go to a skanky bar and be alright about it.
She must love music.
Must have a good sense of humour.
Must like to argue/debate.
Must be educated.
Must be his equal, but not exactly.
Quiet, but not a wallflower.
Mine:
Cute with atleast one visible flaw or imperfectionscars included.
A twisted-ass since of humourone where no topic is safe.
Intelligent. Doesnt have to be in the same field as me, but NOT VACANT!
Must like good films (indies and films with good characters, acting, and plot)
Must also appreciate the value of a bad film (SEE ALSO: I, Robot, Resident Evil Apocalypse, Any Tony Scott film, any Del Toro film [cept Devil's Backbone, which was a good film], some slasher flicks, some action flicks, anything by Catherine Breillat)
More than a passive enjoyer of music. Not exactly rabid, but more of a I can't Live Without thing.
Can tolerate smoking, constant use of the 'f-word,' and a number of other stupid shit.
Doesn't mind the occasional snobbish, faux enlightened comment.
AND HERE'S THE BIG ONE!
Must be able to tolerate my lame-ass friends.
PS. The way i feel about music: The way i feel is that, if tomorrow, we found out that they were never going to make another movie, another game or book ever again, as long as i have music, i'll be fine.
When i find out Gondry, or Jonze, or Fincher, or Aronofsky, or Scott are making another film, i get very excited. and a month before the film comes out, i get even more excited.
when i find out Tool or Deftones, KMFDM, MSI, MLC--whoever--is coming out with a new CD, i get all fanboy and obsess over the due-out-date.
i mean, when Janes Addiction annouced Strays, i was super psyched! the first time i listened to it, i nearly peed myself...and that wasnt even a good album!
eer...i'm done, now.
I hope so.

March is no good for me. I'll be a hermit from March to September.
How about a revolution in the fall? October is a nice, traditional month for revolutions.
