I played violin when I was younger, also. My parents didn't want me to have drums, either, so that's how I got the guitar. I taught myself how to play drums on other peoples' kits.
My first girlfriend came back to town for the holidays. I realized how much I love her, and while I may not ever get to be with her again, Just the fact that I know her makes me feel good.
