Hi everybody!
I'm back!
How've you been?
Whatcha been up to?
Dja miss me?
For those of you who pay no attention, we were in Vermont for the last 10 days.
It was swell.
Warm in the sun.
Coooold at night!
Rain.
Snow.
Sun.
Good weather if you ask me.
We had Thanksgiving up there, jsut the 4 of us.
I baked a maple walnut pie.
Oh, did I say four?
Hmm.
Yeah.
About that.
We've always known we'd get a couple of dogs for when we moved up there permanently.
We set a date for moving, August 15th, and since then I'd been doing some thinking.
Mostly in the shower last Friday morning.
I thought "Well gee, we're gonna be up here full-time this summer, and I really wanna get a dog, but since we're gonna be kinda picky about it maybe we should start looking now - y'know, establishing relationships with local shelters and put our names on some kinda list so that when what we want comes in we and they will be ready and call us. Yeah, we could even go to the nearest shelter today to get the ball rolling."
It seemed wise at the the time.
We wanted only a puppy.
It had to be a big, yet mixed, breed, preferably German Shepherd in there somewhere.
This is not an easy thing to find, so starting early seemed like the prudent thing to do.
Well, maybe it was and maybe it wasn't, cos meet the new member of our family:
Her name's Stella (guess who we named her after!).
She's 13 weeks old.
She's a German Shepherd with some border collie and other stuff mixed in.
She was the runt of her litter, so we don't know how big she'll get.
But, gee she's swell!
Lotta work though.
Especially here in NYC.
It's not easy to house-train a puppy in a 5-story walk-up!
I have to plug the shelter we got her from, NCAL.
They are a great, no-kill shelter.
In other news, I built a bookcase.
Go ahead, just try to pull it down!
You can't!
It's solid man!
And I entertained Wave with some guitar playing and singing.
He loved it!:
He's not sleeping, by the way!
Thanks for being so supportive in your comments on Horrorbabbles.
She deserves it.
I forgot that her page is usually "friends-only", so I hope that some of you figured out a way in.
I'm gonna try and catch up as much as I can with you guys, but I know I missed a lot, and can't hope to glean (gleen?) everything, but I'll do my best.
JUST WONDERIN:
(If you don't have an answer, just say the first thing that comes to mind)
1) Are you a Mod or a Rocker? (you may not answer "mocker")(you can't say ROD either!!!!)
2) Do you or have you had a dog?
3) Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn?
4) Have you ever punched anyone in the face? (did I ask that before?)
5) Handcuffs?
