Ok.
Sorry I waited so long.
The story so far:
After Dorwayin and ShellyMC sadly left us last Monday, we went home.
We had tentative plans to hang with FancyD again at some point, but who knows what's gonna happen in this crazy city.
Things can come up.
Fortunately, we did get to hang with D not once, but TWO more times!
The first was when she came over on a rainy Wednesday afternoon and just hung out at our apartment for a few hours.
After a change of socks (hers were soaked), we had a nice long chat and got to know her, which was a pleasure. We don't do that kind of stuff so much anymore.
Anaxarete and D discussed how wonderful ShellyMC and Dorwayin are:
Then we got hungry and ordered pizza from the second-best place in the city, Lombardi's.
We stuffed ourselves, and since she had a ways to go to get home, D left, promising to go to Coney Island with us on Saturday.
This would be a good point to say that I know what the "D" stands for in FancyD:
Delightful.
She is a pleasure to have around.
She's great because she's so positive and enthusiastic and inteligent - perfect company for our mini-forays into NYC life.
She would be a terrific asset on any trip, or for anything at all, really...
We love her.
She does bring out that kidnapping urge, doesn't she?
We let her go, though.
So on Saturday we met up, got in the car, drove and picked up CorpHo, who lives in Brooklyn, and went to Coney Island.
We had a great time.
The following photos are from that excursion.
Anaxarete and Waveland, my beautiful family:
Wave tries to hail a cab while D photos:
But there ARE no taxis...
It's a big world, little Wave...
CorpHo is totally addicted to skeeeball!
It's true!
And Anaxarete got stuck in a car!
After all the fun we went to our FAVE pizza place a couple of blocks away, Totonno's, on Neptune avenue.
In my eagerness to stuff my face, I neglected to take any photos of the pizza, so I'm stealing this from CorpHo's page (who also gives a more detailed description of the day).
Red:
And white:
I don't like white pizza from anyplace else, but this shit is so thin, so crispy, and SO garlicky (!) that hell, it's hands down my fave pie in the world (and I'm from Chicago!)!!!
So then we had to drive everyone home and say goodbye (hopefully just see ya later) to FancyD....
It was a lot of fun.
Thanks to all of you who visited NYC this past week (Dorwayin, Shelly and D).
It's good to have one's faith in humanity restored every now and then.
Sorry I waited so long.

I get more and more angry at politicians everyday, seems like hilary clinton is the best of a bad bunch at your end.. our prime minister is just a big eared moron. He's not even a drunk which just makes him even more boring!
Those are very nice family pics! FancyD and Wave are real cuties!
I crashed at my bros place in the suburbs last night then came home on the train this morning...My mom is holding up pretty good for 76!
