Ok Ok.
The Show.
It was a little rough.
A little messy.
But we rocked. As ever.
The lineup-
Me: Guitar, Vocals
Maria: Bass, Vocals
Jimmy: Guitar, Vocals
Chris: Drums
Here are Maria and I:
So the story.
There isn't much of one.
The show was packed, which was good.
Right before we went on Rosario Dawson's mom (who looks like she's 33) sang 2 songs a capella. She has a great voice, but 4 minute a capella songs are not my thing.
So she finished and we stormed the stage. We had to use the house amps, not our own huge kick-ass Marshall stacks, so the sound was a little wimpier than I like, but this was necessary due to the fact that so many bands were playing.
So we start rocking. First song, we play well - a good start. We turn it up a notch and play #16 next. It goes alright for a bit, then starts sounding like shit. I look over at Jimmy and he's broken a string and gone all out of tune!
Here's that moment:
Now, Jimmy is a total professional. He (and I) can normally change a string in 2 minutes, but something was screwed up on his guitar and it took him 10 minutes!
In the meantime Maria and I told jokes, hemmed and hawed ( I hemmed, she hawed) and repeated our web address several times. Finally we played a song without Jimmy.
Then he was finally ready and we rocked on.
Blurry but this is what it really looked like (no flash):
And Maria and Jimmy:
And then the soundman informed us that we could play only 1 more song (because we wasted so much time with Jimmy's broken string), so to make Laceyglove happy I changed shirts:
It was pretty fun.
I had 2 beers.
I had only 2 cigarettes!
Thank god that's all over with now.
And to break a leg originally came from Shakespearean times, when "to break a leg" meant "to take a bow", which meant your performance went well.
Those were some good guesses though!
