well, it sure has been a while since a REAL update. so here goes nothing...
i was originally buying a house. said house was already framed up, waiting on sheet rock, 3 months ago. i put in an offer on t, which was accepted. mind you, all the other houses around it werent even foundations yet. yet, lo and behold, all the other houses were completed before mine! that made me bitter, but i got over that. then, the straw that broke the camels back: they hand-wrote stuff into the contract without my approval (such as the closing date, and interior paint), and expected me to abide by this cocksuckery! so i got my buddy the lawyer to check it out, and i severed the contract with them. bastards! all in all, i bought a different house, which ended up costing me a fuckload more, but oh well. moving in in 2 weeks.
my best friend is getting married in september, and i have been looking forward to this for a long time, simply because the army has strategically placed all of its activities to make sure that i am unable to attend any of the events that the people closest to me find important (ie weddings, births, etc...). so i thought this would be my one opportunity to be there for my loved ones before i left for afghanistan in january.
wrong.
just found out ill be in Nevada doing training for afghanistan during the wedding. needless to say, this put a big damper on things. well hell, what can you do i guess?
my time home was good, but it went by too fast! i had alot of good times, met up with Mary, and we got drunk and ran away from the cops for no good reason whatsoever. ill post vacation pics as soon as i have the motivation.
i definately missed you all tons! hope everyone is doing well.

ill tell ya, the 19th/20th group route is the way to go- they basically get to do all the cool deployments, but they dont have to play army inbetween them! its pretty rad.
That's pertty much his attitude-- he was out for many years, and then got back in after 9/11 when this buddy of his who (as a yonger man) had bounced in on a jump was cleared physically for reserve duty. ! He was all, "fuck, if he could get in, I could get in." Turns out the medic doing his intake physical was a old buddy from back in the day-- gave him grade 1A, 1A, 1A, 1A . . .
I know at least one of those old dudes on his team only comes back for the wars.
