In the aftermath of just about any disaster, one of the first things you'll hear is something along the lines of "now is not the time to get political".
When, exactly, is the time to get political? Is there a designated day? Who decides?
What harm does it do the victims, for the observers of the disaster to get political? Does it slow down the relief effort?
And isn't it curious that the people, who, either through their own action or inaction are the most to blame, are the ones that trot out this phrase first?
