I'm Canadian. We don't have to discuss this inanity. All we're doing, even the atheists among us, is praying to a higher power that there's regime change.

I enjoyed the spin Cheneys office put on his remarks, i.e., Well, we face the possibility of more terrorist attacks if anyone gets elected, and at least we know that Bush and Cheney will rack up a body count for the alleged opposition rather than plumbing the scary and deeply upsetting causes behind it all. One way or another, I strongly suspect that American intelligence agencies will drop the ball on a significant terrorist event shortly before the election; if it effects the natural course of the election, Ill be shopping around for a new home, and frankly, Pluto wont be far enough away.
Also, keep in mind that, very recently, we heard that terrorists are planning an election-time assassination of a top-level politician, but for some reason Bush is an ineligible target. Now Cheney says were all going to die if Kerry gets elected, but were perfectly safe if we reelect the guy blowing holes in the terrorists backyards? What exactly are these terrorists motivations again? Assassinating any single American wont do much to disrupt the flow of capitalism, and if youre trying to disrupt the election process and you leave the fucking president off the list of potential targets, well, youre not being a very effective terrorist. I can understand some extremist Muslims believing an ultimate war between Christianity and Islam is brewing, and that Bush is the guy to make it really happen, but 1,000 coalition casualties versus hundreds of thousands of Muslim casualties makes it look like Allah hasnt mobilized his troops yet. The only rational for these terrorists to act in these ways would be a desire to see their countrymen killed, their country invaded and occupied, and their natural resources plundered; when you realize these arent reasonable motivations for a Muslim but exceedingly likely motivations for someone in or propping up the Bush administration, the arguments against wild conspiracy theories start to look a lot more puerile.
I hear Vega 4 is lovely this time of year.

hmm. the climate in my city is very similar to siberia. it snows a lot here. there are a lot of theatre groups, a world class ballet company, art galleries, opera company, world class symphony, fringe fest and so on. we are awash in stuff to do because we spend so much of the year dealing with extreme weather.

I love New York. Its one of the most remarkable cities in the world. The high water mark of western art & culture. When I visit NYC, its like Ive slipped into a big pair of warm, fuzzy slippers cozy, comforting I feel at home. The pulse is electrifying. Life fills every nook and cranny, overhead and underfoot. The whir of machinery, the clatter of...

you like the glasses I avoid wearing? I walk around in a blurry haze much of the time. I wear them at movies mostly. I think I prefer things softly out of focus.

yea, there is a strange feeling here right now... everyone is tense... blah

Thanks.
Cindy Sherman is a huge influence to me. So hopefully, some of her style will rub off on my set I'm going to shoot.
By the way, that image is amazingly funny. I think I prefer Madonna too.

Great journal Pic. Any chance I get I'll post my stupid political nuggets.
I like the series. It feels like there's a lot going on just outside the frame. I like the canal st station coffee table. I seem to remember that being one of the stations closed for a long time after September 11.
On Saturday I'm going to a houseparty. Sunday it's giving out treats at my mom's. Then I'm off to see this folksinger at a place nearby called the Pyramid Cabaret.
New York was great. I love New York, especially the Village. It's a hell of a lot of fun.
