I have another bone to pick. This goes out to the strange middle-aged man who decided to smile at me as I was driving to the car repair shop - DO NOT SMILE at me, it's freaky. It wasn't a "good" smile either. It was a pervy unwanted unwarranted dirty smile. GO AWAY! And as he smiled, he slowed down to my speed, driving right alongside me, next to my car in the other lane. I glared at him, and if I had a gun and a gun license I would have shot him down, he was making me that uncomfortable. But I suppose if I were to shoot at a man, I wouldn't really need a gun license, since it wouldnt make much of a difference while I'm in the fucking slammer. HA! But luckily, I had no such gun, and I looked in the other direction, and eventually stopped fuming. Unfortunately, my father witnessed the whole thing as he was watching it through his rear-view mirror, and he asked me about it when we arrived at the repair shop (we had to go in separate cars to drop off my mom's car there.)
Why do men think it is OK to pick up on women as they drive through the streets? Are some men actually successful with such scheming? It's reprehensible behavior - the amount of gall and audacity it takes to go through with such a thing is unbelievable.
Also, no offense to auto repairman in general, but ya'll act like you've never seen girls in your shop before. And it always seems like the Mexicans (no offense again) stand around and gawk, maybe even bordering on leering. It wouldn't be so noticeable guys if you didn't stop what you were doing and make the exceptional effort to stare me down, practically provoking an angry sort of recognition from me. (Although admittedly some of you guys are cute.)
Today as I was driving home, I received another smile from a man driving a truck/van vehicle (ok, I'm not so good at remembering car details) and it didn't make me squirm. And it was definitely because the smile was amiable and unscary. And the odd thing is that I provided a half-smile in return! Remember guys, there is a fucking difference between nice smiles and smiles that make girls want to run the fuck away.
I feel awful complaining about petty things. But apparently not awful enough to stop me from posting this. Oh well.
Tell me something funny.
