if i had the resources (but aren't there so many things we'd all like to do if we had the resources?), i would love to run a puppy farm...or something better, a puppy paradise. no, not for me to market and sell the pups, but to raise and nuture a large puppy family, many generations of pups, with the greatgranddaddydog, every cousin once-twice-or-thrice-removed, every uncle-and-aunt-doggy-duo, the whole shebang, the whole kit and kaboodle (sp?). just doggies, no other four-legged animal, especially no pussies. do you like it when they rub up against your legs? too much feline fuzz for me to handle.

i dunno, i have an uncanny suspicion i am writing the same old journal entry that everyone else writes, a bit revised and re-tweaked but the same thing. recycled refuse.

it's over! the holidays nearly kill me every time. i rebuild my defenses throughout the year, only to come apart with the jingle-jangle of the jolly giants.

as with the beginning of every year, i will painstakingly try to remember the current year and not the previous when writing correspondence, homework, and the very seldom check -ugh (who writes checks to pay bills? it's an outdated procedure, time-consuming, wastes paper and stamps).

this article encouraged me to make the following list - major movies of 2004 i went to see: big fish, the girl with a pearl earring, monster, starsky and hutch, secret window, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, taking lives, kill bill vol.2, laws of attraction, troy, garfield, napoleon dynamite, the stepford wives, the terminal, fahrenheit 9/11; i, robot, the bourne supremacy, collateral, garden state, the village, paparazzi, wicker park, wimbledon, team america: world police, the grudge, bridget jones: the edge of reason, closer, ocean's twelve. plus the three movies mentioned in the previous journal entry

2004 movies which i havent seen but want to eventually: saw, saved!, sideways, shrek 2, super size me, spiderman 2 and i heart huckabees. are there any other movies that came out this year that you'd recommend?

Please don't feel blackeyed ... I'd hate to think I'd caused that. It's just too much stuff on the go...

But anyway... My feelings about sex:

In theory I like it. I've enjoyed (to some extent) some of the sexual situations I've been in. But... more often than not, I've found that the stress and weight of expectations have prevented me from really enjoying it.

In practice, sex has not been that great. Several times, with mediocre sex, the post-sex hassle (partner not seeing the event(s) the same way, and so on) has been enough to make me wish I'd never done it. In other cases, sex that was reasonably great in the moment has turned out to carry a weight of expectations that has turned me right off. And in the few cases where we both knew what we were getting into, and agreed to it (tacitly or otherwise), it just hasn't been as exciting as various sources suggest it should be. A couple of women that I'd happily do just about anything for, turn out to be married or married-equivalent... damn!!

I'm still waiting (hoping) for the partner that will make it all wonderful: the sex, the conversation, the deep discussion of values, the trading of little secrets, the shared reading of books, the cuddling without borders or artificial boundaries.

I hope you've found that... seems (from your journal entries) like maybe you have. I wish you the best with it.

Cheers
