New kitty tights. So this is my first time doing one of those days-of-the-week photos. Is there a "meow-meow Monday?" Maybe? [I missed Caturday.] There's a mani[a]c, morose, mournful, miserable, motherfuck Monday, I think. :-)

There's this part in James Franco's Actors Anonymous I'd like to share with you.
"If everything is performance, maybe the most real performance is pornography.
Two actors having sex on camera may be titillating an audience for pay, but they are still having sex. Their bodies are doing the act.
Something involuntary must be touched in them before they can come.
Maybe the search for the real is about playing the most roles and having the most sex. "
I am not sure if I agree with Franco on any of these points, but I definitely liked mulling over it.
There's another interesting tidbit you might like: "To have an inside, there always needs to be an outside. The more elite the inside, the more people are on the outside. Get in there, but don't live in there. Be on both sides."
And one last excerpt [ I promise!] from Mr. Franco: "We all have masks. Often, I like to write about young people, because it's a time when they are still sculpting their masks.
When we get older, after years of use, the masks meld with our faces. Yes, there are little tweaks here and there, but the mask is reinforced by response. We wear the mask and people respond to the mask and the mask becomes us, the outside response from others nails it down tight."
I don't know about you, but this makes me want to tear off my "mask" and have a re-do. I wonder if I've already reached the point where my mask is unreceptive to full-scale alteration. Anywho, something to think about.

Ps Finished up Wild Years: The Music and Myth of Tom Waits. Still entrenched in The Complete Essays. I also just read The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells. An indicator of a good book is: when the lines are blurred between the main character as hero/ anti-hero and protagonist/antagonist. Griffin [the main character / the invisible man] had me cheering for him and yet wanting him to please stop already.
Pps I am now reading Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club. Only about 15 or so years after everyone else. ;-)
