Are you creepy?

Are you a creepy old man? Would you admit it if you were? Does the nature of being creepy prevent you from even realizing you're pretty creepy?! If you are above a certain age, and are still looking at nudie photos of girls (women) that are half, or a third or even a quarter (or a fifth?!?!) of your age, do you instantly qualify for the creepy old man / dirty old man status? Or are you just completely normal and honest with your sexual desires and appetites? Are you actually the misunderstood victim of a puritanical and judgmental society? As much as you supposedly "want" to be attracted to women your own age, are you physiologically hard-wired to lust after the doe-eyed 18 year old?

Does a man's perception of beauty undergo a radical shift as he gets older? (We all know that it SHOULD change, but DOES it change?) Or is there an objective biological standard of beauty which remains steadfast all throughout the years?

Is it true that men are typically more attracted by what they see, and women are (more) attracted by what they hear? If it's true, what are the implications?

For most of recorded history, women have been traditionally viewed as the vainer, more superficial sex because of our concerted efforts to become beautiful, or stay beautiful, in an attempt to be viewed as desirable. But are these typically feminine pursuits really more vain than the man who judges his own self-worth on the quantity and quality of the beautiful women he sleeps with?

Which is more abhorrent: wanting to be with someone for his/her good looks, or wanting to be with someone for his/her money (or power/authority/security)? Personally, all are equally repulsive. All equally fucked up.

Shouldn't we able to love one another romantically for internal attributes only? Is this truly possible? Or is it some fantastical tale implanted into the minds of every generation of impressionable youth, in order to get us to toe the line, obey, behave and improve our inner selves and make us seem less superficial?

Why are women [in general] better equipped to ignore physical imperfections in a man if they find his mind, his humor, his disposition, attractive? Why are men [in general] better equipped to ignore personality (and emotional and mental) defects in a woman if he finds her physically attractive? What the fuck is wrong with us, people?! If a woman is unattractive, but is smart, funny etc, men will say something like this: Oh, she's so cool, she's just like one of the guys. Which is code for: I have no interest in her whatsoever.

Ultimately, are men and women really that different? I'd like to think that there are more similarities than differences. We are all self-interested assholes. We all want what we consider best for ourselves. It's just that we have different ideas about what the best happens to be.

xx

ps

Embrace your inner creep.

@horror_head Your grandfather sounds like quite a guy. Nice to know that you can have so much spunk at that age. Too bad you had to discover it for yourself though. I am really surprised that he was able to write so small and legibly that you would need a magnifying glass. I don't think I could even write THAT small, even 5 years ago. Maybe his impressive eyesight accounts for his perviness. If everything you see is a bit out-of-focus, it might not be as much of a turn-on. Also, it's really hard to realize that our older family members are just human, like we are, and are sexual beings. Unfortunately, it seems like in most societies, old people are supposed to give that part [their sexual nature] up because it grosses everyone out.
