This just in: Comcast fucking blows.
Comcast experienced an outage on Friday afternoon. Most of the city was up on Saturday, but I was down until this morning. I had to call and harass them 3 times before they sent somebody out. Fuckers.
I am officially a Big Brother. I met my Little last night. He is 11 years old, lives with his Grandma and 2 brothers. His Mom passed away a few years ago, and Dad is "not in the picture", so Grandma is all he has. I feel so sorry for Grandma, she is old and retired. They have almost no money, they don't even turn their lights on so they can save money on the electric bill. Grandma works 20 hours per week at a pulltab booth to make ends meet. His 9 year old has had a Big for a year, so he is pretty excited. We are going bowling next week.
Are there any other Big Brothers or Big Sisters out there? If so, I would love to hear about your experiences. Not a BB or BS? If you are interested, please check out their site: Big Brothers Big Sisters
I don't know what it would be like to grow up without a Mom. I have the best Mom ever, so I am very lucky. Hug your Moms, people! Unless you don't like them, of course. They're not all perfect...
Much love and respect to all of you SG Moms out there, LizaRose, Ash, etc. Speaking of Ash, her son's birthday is coming up. Ash uses her wishlist function only for her son's benefit, she never asks for anything for herself. If you can, please go to her blog and help her son have an incredible birthday. Thanks, guys.
