I got an e-mail newsletter from Tartan Video (they're the one that release films like OldBoy, Ring trilogy and pretty much any half decent foreign film here in the UK). In that newsletter was the chance for people to get their gruby mitts on a signed copy of the book The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things by JT. Leroy if you buy the DVD from Tartan and they'll also include a copy of his book Sarah.
Now, i've read the book Sarah and i really enjoyed it, even though at times it was a little awkward to read (especially considering that you never quite know how much is auto-biographical) but i do thoroughly recommend it.
But anyway, i went straight onto tartanvideo.com and placed my order...so here's hoping i got in quick enough as numbers are limited.
I actually spent a lot of last night working on a new short story (as you can probably tell from my journal entries...thank heaven for speel cheeck [that was deliberate btw]). It's good to be writing again and i am fairly happy with what i have done. I only stopped because it was about 1am, my eyes were hurting like fuck (i really should wear my glasses) and i had work the next day. I am going to try my best to get cracking with it tonight...i kow i only have a little more to do (about a page) but the idea of not finishing it (like everything else i do) is haunting me a little. I hope to submit it to The2ndHand, whether or not it's good enough is there call but i always dreamed of being published, ever since i started writing, and i think it's a great place to get my stuff out there. I'll keep y'all posted.
OK, from what i gather, my nan is coming home tomorrow...I don't kow the full story by any means but medically she is fit to leave and i'm sure has been signed off. Also i think my mum was desperately concerned with how she is being treated (she walked in this morning to find her undressed trying to wash herself...not easy when you're recovering from a broken hip and various painkillers and a possible urine infection are leaving you confused as hell). Plus the general incompetency. They thought she lived in a first floor flat about a shop with a dog...that was 30 years ago! She lives in a bungalow (dunno if here are bungalows in the US but they are all on ground level, just so you know) and they don't own a dog. Admiteddly they look after my parents dog during the day, more for companionship as they are both (my nan and grandad) either deaf or going a little crazy. You can imagine the wonderful conversations they must have!
When i know more, you'll know more.
I think my buddy Silverwolf summed it up for me:
Alive but confused
you really hit the nail on the head my man! but that whole hing is a different story in itself and one that i am trying not to think about.
dumb and confused...with a poor grasp of the English language, thats me alright...at least i'm handsome...did i mention also deluded?
Right i'm off to finish writing my masterpiece
see you in the next millenium!
Peace
