So I am in a pathology rotation right now...turns out the head of the morgue at my hospital worked at the NYC Office of the County Medical Examiner for twenty years (Brooklyn borough) before his current job. He took me there today (we had to pick up some tumor specimens from a patient of ours) and I got a full tour of all the autopsy suites and the numerous refrigerated lockers holding about 50 bodies (slow day)...including a "floater" who was found today after jumping off the George Washington Bridge a week(ish) ago (i will spare the details...of body AND smell) and a man tied up in the trunk of a car that was burned. Amazing seeing such things...yet fascinating...now I want to go into forensic pathology....if only it paid more...
on another note....2 more autopsies down this week....both morbidly obese...
