I just woke up from what I suspect was a klonopin-induced nightmare.
I was coming down some steps to a basement of some kind, and the light wasn't working. I kept flicking the switch but the only light I had was the light from the stairs I came down. My cousin was calling me from upstairs, and as I was about to head into the dark with the little bit of light I had, something horrible flashed in front of me, and all the lights were out. I was frantically trying to turn the light for the stairs on, but nothing worked, and I could feel that there was something there with me in the basement. I screamed at myself to wake up, and when I did, I couldn't move for a few minutes, and I thought the closet door and my bedside table were my aunt and cousin looking over me, as if I was at their house, which was scary since I'm not. Finally, I really woke up, and of course, I'm here in Houston in my apartment. My dad is asleep on the couch and the Skinemax movie he fell asleep watching is playing some god-awful soulful/sensual r&b stuff right now. I just took a Unisom so I can go back to bed and let the klonopin continue to erase my short-term memory.
I want my Sherlock, or Samantha. Samantha doesn't like to sleep on beds, though, because she hates it when you shift around. Sherlock is a lump when he gets cozy, though. He sleeps later than I do. I miss him.
I have to finish my paper on the Yoruba river goddess Yemaya at some point this week so my prof can take a look at it. I also need to incorporate another diety into this paper, because there is not enough information on Yemaya in the anthropological record that I can use. She's worshipped even today, esp. in Brazil and Cuba, by millions, and I found a cheap, mass-produced figurine of her in New Orleans quite easily last year, but there is only one book that deals with her in any sort of academic sense, as opposed to the whole new-agey goddess worship thing, and I have it. Argh!
I need to fall asleep in a library. They always give you the best dreams.
