Happy New Year! Mine got off to a very happy start (see previous journal entry if you're unsure why). I am so excited about this year! I feel like I have so much to look forward to, and even if I don't have absolute confidence in myself to do everything I want to do, I know that this year I'm strong enough to take my mistakes in stride and learn from them. I don't think my depression is completely cured or anything, but ending the abusive relationship I was in has significantly improved my life and my outlook in general.
So here are my New Year's Resolutions:
1.) Take care of myself so I can take care of others.
2.) Work out or be active for at least 5 hours a week.
3.) Make straight A's and transfer to UT Austin in the fall. Get out of Houston!
4.) Record a demo.
5.) Do something creative at least once a week, like drawing, painting, or even cooking.
6.) Take martial arts as soon as my finances permit, preferably wing-chun kung fu.
7.) Keep up my correspondence with my friends and family so they know I haven't forgotten them, especially in Brazil, because they won't see me for a while.
8.) Keep meeting nice people.
9.) Go dancing more!
10.) Learn to play an instrument. Here I come, light-up keyboard!
I hope everyone is doing very well and has lots of hope for the new year, in spite of whatever is going on now. It's so lovely to have a clean slate, psychologically if nothing else.
I have a question for all of you: is Ducky, the character in the Land Before Time, a male or female, in your opinion? Can you prove it? I'm curious....and it would clear up a bet I have going right now.
big New Year's kisses for everyone!

Maybe mine can be to read my Dostoevskys again because it's been a while.
As for the cool part, that's what I've been trying to tell everyone but I'm not sure if they listen. Oh well...
Laters (and nice to meet you!)
those sound like some very good resolutions. my resolution: I resolve not to make any resolutions, because I can never keep them.
Ducky is neither male nor female. Ducky has evolved beyond gender, and dwells in the realm of the gods.
oh shit! happy birthday!
