Yesterday rocked! I got to go back to work at my old job, at the animal clinic, and everyone was super-good to me. I love coming back like this, you get so many more hugs than you do when you're here all the time. The highlight of my day was when the HOT guy that works in the kennel was telling me how awesome my hair looks, that I look really good, how much it sucks that I live in Houston now, and he kept staring at me. Sigh. If only he weren't engaged with a baby on the way, I would totally ask him out. And I never do that!
Work was pretty cool, except that, as usual, we had about three emergencies come in at exactly the same time, when we already had appointments there. There was a cat dying of heart failure, which was really sad. Her chest was full of fluid and we stayed really late getting her comfortable so the owners could take her to the emergency clinic overnight. But, of course, there were plenty of healthy puppies getting vaccines and stuff, so it was a good day. I didn't even mind working with a girl named Braid (of all things), who is a total ditz. I'm going to take pictures of my favorite animals today. My favorite dog (that is not mine) in the whole world, this gorgeous Doberman, is there to board and I got to spend ten minutes just playing with her last night. I am such a dog freak!
I'm reading The Ballad of the Sad Cafe again, and some of the passages are just the saddest and most beautiful writing ever. Carson McCullers' childhood home is on my grandparents' street in Columbus, GA. I wish there was enough interest to make it a museum. She was a bonafide genius.
Well, hope you all have the best Thursday ever, and that I find someone to go to 80's night with me at the Masquerade!
