Last night was so good! ?uestlove spun at Le Poisson Rouge. We had an amazing night dancing our asses off to old hip hop. I was impressed...everyone says New Yorkers don't dance (and I was starting to believe it) but he got the hipsters and even the suits to shake their asses. It's up there with my favorite nights out in the city.
Saturday was unofficially bulldog day at work. We had about 4 English Bulldogs and 3 Frenchies come in, and our first appointment of the day was an 8 week old brindle English Bulldog with a black hoodie on that read "Mansion Security" and had the Playboy symbol on it. He was so obnoxiously cute! It was hard not to enjoy working that day, with all the grunting and snorting going on around us. That night I had sushi with siamkittie, my inscrutable Thai flower, and then we drank and half-danced with the awesome mellythepirate and other friends. I made it home by 5 am, in the sleet, and crashed out til 5 pm Sunday. I woke up a new woman.
I bought my ticket home for Easter. Last year I had a Brazilian feast at my house, which my grandmother and I worked on for two days, and had lots of friends over. We pigged out and then walked the dogs to the park in my neighborhood and played all afternoon. I'm hoping to have friends over this year, too, but it'll probably be on a smaller scale. I can't wait to see my grandmother and my mama and my sweet, goofy boy-dogs! I guess I miss my brothers a little, too.
