Tonight at work one of the vets high-fived me because I convinced a client whose pet is hospitalized with us to let us charge $4,000 to her credit card (her current invoice is almost $5,000). I didn't have to do any convincing, I just charged what the client asked me to (she's a very sweet humanities prof at NYU), but the vet thought I convinced her and was way too excited about it.
She's a better vet than a human being.
Blindness was life-changing. I finished it this morning during my little 15 minute commute and just sort of sat there in awe. I want to get my hands on more Saramago now. I'd ultimately love to read him in Portuguese, because even in translation some of the flavor of the language came through. It would be a good challenge.
There will be dancing this weekend. I'm overdue.

I don't even really know what to say about that.
