My 3 month review last Thursday went very well...I got a tiny raise! It's not going to help me get a new place or anything, but it's a nice gesture considering the state of the economy (and our practice). My boss is also going to use me for writing and editing projects, so that's good, too.
Hot professor took me out that night to celebrate and we got all worked up when we really had nowhere to go (neither of us have any privacy where we live). So frustrating! This weekend I'm petsitting for a friend and will have an apartment to myself, though. Before I could finish inviting him over he told me he'd be there, so I'm excited.
So since I kissed this guy I haven't done anything with anyone else. This is new! I didn't intend for it to happen but I realized the other day that it's how things are and I like it. I don't have any idea how serious this will get, or if it will, even, but so far we both seem to be on the same page. I still feel like I'm having an illicit affair with one of my professors, but that's hot. What will happen if he stops being professorial, I wonder?
Friday night I tried to see Coraline in 3D with some friends, but it was sold out so we hit up a diner, went bookshopping at the Strand, and got cupcakes at Crumbs. I got Blindness by Jose Saramago, On Beauty by Zadie Smith, and Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon. February reading!
Saturday night I got to see my hometown homie, Oryon and some local friends, too. I was also felt up by a cute blonde stranger...my breasts are the cross that I bear. Last night I had nuclear wings and watched part of the Grammys with a friend...so lame. I did enjoy Adele's performance, though, and M.I.A. was badass up there, about to have her baby any second. What the hell were Keith Urban and John Mayer doing onstage with B.B. King and Buddy Guy? Oh well.
This is one of the first Brazilian songs I remember hearing as a child. It's very 70's and Afro-Brazilian and fabulous.
