Someone finally did what so many of us have wanted to do for so long:
The homesickness hit me hard the other night. I caved and called my mom and she happened to be reading in my bedroom. She said she'd been thinking about me that night and went through my books (and I also happen to have the best bed in the house). She said she realized how important art and literature are to me and she wished she could afford to send me to school full-time. My mama's so sweet.
BigPoppa99 rocks for taking me grocery shopping today! I bought stuff I can't find in the stores by me, which are amazing if you're cooking but not if the only kitchen equipment you have regular access to are a fridge and a microwave. My goal in life for 2009 is to live somewhere I can cook in the kitchen.
Last night I met up with my favorite Asian, siamkittie, and the always fabulous AsterLee. We drank cheap wine and found the remnants of Santa-Con at a bar...I had no idea a bunch of dudes in Santa costumes could be so hot. I got to catch up with an old friend and then we met up with Vegemite at Henrietta Hudson. Oh, the hotness....
I wish I'd stayed longer because the dancing was great and TheLibra was there.
I have to find something cheap to do on New Year's Eve. Any suggestions?

It was so pretty when I left this morning! Sticking to the bare tree branches. *sigh* Nothing but rain here at the jersey beach.
