Last night I got a call from my mom about my grandma's health. I was really bummed and it was hard to sleep, so I listened to the Somewhere in Time soundtrack over and over. I really wish my mom wouldn't tell me when my grandma's not doing well when I'm far away. I feel guilty for not being with her, but I know I should be here. I'll be home Thursday anyway, but I couldn't sleep thinking about her.

The weekend was crazy and fun and filled with ridiculous moments. I finally made it to Beauty Bar last night for The Phantastic Invisible Tentacle, which would have been so much more fun if people 1) showed up and 2) were dancing. The bartender said Stephin Merritt wasn't there, but the dj looked a lot like him. Oh well. I'll go back. I can't stop listening to Epitaph for my Heart now, though. The Magnetic Fields are genius.

A bunch of my friends are breaking up or getting dumped or otherwise having their hearts broken lately. I feel bad. My love life's not thrilling right now, but it's ok. I have something to look forward to when I'm home this weekend. I'm in a good place. No entanglements. Meaningless sex is back on the menu. I just wish no one around me had to go through any heartache. It's awful.
