I love the smell of clean laundry! I hate folding clothes but today's laundry day, so I've been watching Be Kind Rewind while cleaning my room and washing my clothes. I got back from Tabi's place, where we spent last night drooling over the hottie cast of True Blood. I loved Summer Heights High, too. It was good to have a night of tv and pizza after the drunken running around I did Saturday. I got way too drunk and my memories of the night are very vague...there was dancing, and making out, and way too much rum involved.
I'm re-reading a great biography of Carson McCullers. For those of you that aren't familiar with her work, she was one of the most talented writers to come out of the South in the 20th century. My grandparents' house is on the same street she grew up on, in an historic neighborhood in Columbus, Georgia. Her biographer was a client of mine at the clinic I worked at in Atlanta, and when I told her I was a huge fan she told me to come visit her whenever I like at her home in Buckhead. I still haven't worked up the courage to take her up on that, but I do dream of hearing her stories of McCullers and Katherine Anne Harris, another master writer. One day...
New York is still working out. It's hard to be away from my family but the job is fantastic and most of the New Yorkers I've dealt with so far have been very good to me. There are a million things I want to do in this city but I'm waiting on my next paycheck to catch up and have money to spend on luxuries like museum memberships and concerts and new books. For now it's enough to enjoy the gorgeous colors of the leaves and to soak up all the sights whenever I walk around with friends. There's always so much to see.

yeah I completely forgot that I had that quote up, I had to go look it myself. and alas no I've never been to one. probably the only way I'll make it to one is if someone keeps reminding me about it.
Hangover, but it was okay
