No pics of my newly shorn head yet, but I love it! I had it bobbed, and the back tickles the nape of my neck.
Dinner at Rathbun's was amazing. I had sweet corn chowder with a hint of chile, with the tiniest grilled gruyere sandwich on top (it was seriously bite-sized, so cute!) to start. Then we shared four small plates: smoked salmon tostadas with habanero, sambal tossed calamari with pea shoots, Mediterranean mussels with smoked garlic focaccia and garlic chive brodo, and Thai rare beef and red onion salad with cilantro. Dessert was the best, of course: gooey toffee cake with Jack Daniel's ice cream.
The service was impeccable and I even saw chef Rathbun when I arrived. The man's a giant! I loved every bite.
Tonight I got another free dinner courtesy a friend's boyfriend. We shared a lovely meal and bottle of champagne at Apres Diem, one of my favorite places to eat and people watch (the patrons look like hipster porn stars-it's annoying but kinda hot). We sang campy songs out the window at strangers in Midtown on the way home, much to their amusement (and annoyance, I suspect, when my girlfriend got carried away during Total Eclipse of the Heart). We're two very tacky gay men with big tits when we get together. I felt sorry for her boyfriend.
I'm working nonstop until I leave for NYC next Wednesday, but tomorrow night I do get to get drunk and sing with my awesome coworkers at a Korean karaoke place on Buford Highway (the road on which you can find anything from acupuncture and Chinese herbs to Peruvian seafood restaurants). It's my favorite road in Atlanta.

the idea of hipster porn stars is scary...can you imagine the music in those movies!?!?!
I'm sure her boyfirend will survive your tackyness. small price to pay. and excellent company is worth and maybe made better by the silliness. It took me three minutes to type that. ugh. I'm not drunk, just jolted from a dead sleep and can't quite get my brain/typing fingers to agree on anything. ok. I hope you've had a lovely weekend...and no worries. not heading out anywhere. just going back to drilling status. I had dropped off going to drill since the Spring and I'm going back to my one weekend a month thing.
oooh! fun in NYC! I miss that town. great eats up there.
goodmorning/night.
