A few days ago, I wore a t-shirt and drove around with the A/C on because it was so warm.
Tonight, my furnace is running because it is thirty degrees and we have snow making its way across the state.
In fact, I just saw a Winter Storm Warning flash for the upper peninsula. They could have around a foot of snow by Thursday night,...

I got a 100% on my paper!
Comment from prof:
"Sarah,
What an excellent and interesting paper. I really loved all of the graphics and tables you included. They really add to your discussion of the topic. You have a very nice writing style. Thank you for turning in your paper early!"

I'd like to stay in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties. Ypsi is too much of a commute for me.
Tonight, someone asked me, "What is your dream job, money be damned, and assume you can have the position?"
I replied, "I want to travel the world, write about the people I meet and the places I visit, hold reading workshops to help children and adults not only learn to read but learn to enjoy the many types of literature out there, create photojournals, and...

Really? Huh. Small world.
And thank you.
And thank you.
subrosa:
Wow. I'm pretty sure I've been to that library at least once or twice. We used to go to the go-kart/mini-golf thing all the time. They technically lived in Grayling (I think) in that big retirement-community/country club development a little bit South(?) of the town.
Good news:
I've lost 25 pounds since March.
Bad news:
It's the A/C compressor. $580 (new belt, compressor, and labor).
[Lots of ranting removed]
Never, ever, EVER go to Fawzi's Westgate Auto in Ann Arbor. I have never been treated so poorly or rudely in my life.
*Edited to add: The mechanic mentioned the same thing alkaholic23 does below, and the mechanic sounded so sad...

Sorry you got screwed with your car.
Congrats on the weight loss! That's wonderful!

On Monday, they insisted it wasn't a belt and then finally replaced the alternator due to 'bad bearings'.
I could still hear the noise on Tuesday.
On Saturday, my serpentine belt snapped while on 696 near Woodward. Luckily, my friend lives just off the exit, so I was able to get to her house on the battery power I had left.

That's cool. An ex of mine was really involved in SCA. I mean, after we had broken up. Sounded interesting though. She was excellent at making period clothing.

Sucks about the car....I've got to take mine in this week to have brakes done. I've put about 13,000 miles on it since I bought it (in five months, ya know!) and this is the first really major fix I have to do to it, so I can't complain too much.
I was looking back a couple entries....where you moving? I'm hating moving right now, but I got most of my stuff moved and I'm getting rid of a lot of things we have doubles of, so that's made it easier.

Packing boxes in preparation for moving has never, ever, EVER felt so good...
I think the last time I felt this way was during the summer between my freshman and sophomore years at NMU. I was so unbelievably excited to get back up there to my home, wilderness, friends, and activities that I started packing about a week after I came home.

That's actually a really nice looking picture, even you do look a bit grumpy.
I received this letter in my Inbox this afternoon:
When I opened your profile and saw the dancing quote from Vendetta, I thought, "Robbins will be in her authors list." I was pleased to see I was right.
Thank you for your energy. The world needs it for tipping over.

Yeah it's a really nice place. The people that work there have been soooo nice and helpful and the units are spacious, well layed out and no noisey neighbors vacuuming above you. Plus it's out of camup area enough to be somewhat quiet but still close to everything in 10 min. from downtown.
doctashock:
life is nice right now.
Excuse the grainy pic. I had a shitty webcam back then, and I needed a picture for my profile.
Yes, this is my very first SG profile picture, back when I was saltatoria (and then Sorcha a month later). I was feeling nostalgic, so I figured I'd upload it.

Hey, you meeting up with us on monday? or still stuck with the 8 am start on tues?
I was supposed to read "To The Lighthouse" for a class several years ago, I b.s.-ed my way through it and never read it. I'm definitely expecting to hate it, but it's not necessarily a given. There've been a few books I've expected to hate that I've ended up loving.
Is Phobia House going this year? Tiffany wants to go to a haunted house. I don't really want to go, but I told her I would at least go to one.
