About twenty years ago, I had a portable spa in the back yard of my first house. One day, the heater stopped working, so I called a repairman to come out and look at it. He told me that there would be an $85 charge no matter what, and I told him that was okay. When he got to my house, he opened up the...

Thanx for writing this.  I have been struggling the last two weeks with my own life changes - close to the same as yours with the addition of making time to draw.  But i love the image of the reset button.  Gonna push that.  Cheers.

I feel like I'm looking into a mirror when I read this.  Except substitute beer for Moutain Dew and writing for webcomics and reading comics under reading and watch more anime instead of movies... okay well maybe not the same but it FEELS the same.  I certainly have had that feeling of playing Metal Gear Solid V for days on end and suddenly having the thought "Hey, weren't you supposed to post a webcomic page like three weeks ago?" and immediately following it up with "Yeah but I'm tired, I can always do it tomorrow." (cue Shia LeBouf)  I'm 39 years old, I should have learned to stop making excuses (or so I always tell myself) but you just showed me that it's a lot tougher than we want to believe.  I think you also just showed me that it can be done.  I also want to be a better person.  I also want to like myself again.  Here's to hitting reset buttons!

Anne and I went to Las Vegas on Sunday for our friends Matt and Doree's wedding. We got dressed up like fancy adults, spent an evening with people we love, and got the hell out of there before Vegas could take any of our money away from us.

I had a stupidly good time playing a silly Star Trek penny slot machine for a quarter...

I've never been to Vegas. The rational side of me has no desire to go, but the Bacchanalian side of me wants to go there and start Big Pimpin'.
mdt:
Glad to hear you had a good time in Vegas this time. I've only been to vegas once but i had the best time. I lost most of my money the first day, shot an SG set on day 2, and drank the rest of the time for about $20. (Gotta love comped drinks while playing penny slots)

ALSO- Milk & Cookies by Melanie Martinez. Have a feeling it will strike a chord.
nebula:
@reaper @wilwheaton, if you like Melanie Martinez you should also look into Halsey, and Marina and the Diamonds. Good stuff :)

My wife and I have a non-profit foundation that raises money for organizations like NAMI, Planned Parenthood, and others. This month, we're doing a fundraiser for the Pasadena Humane Society.

For a few years, I've written these silly tweets that are excerpts from a book that doesn't exist, called A Guide To Being A Dog, by Seamus Wheaton. It's all the funny things that my...

August 23rd is the official birthday of Wil Wheaton dot Net, which went live on this day way back in 2001, in all its ugly hand-coded glory.

I didn’t know then that this blog would change my life, begin a new career for me as a writer, and eventually give me a second act in my life. It’s been one hell of a journey...

I was actually thinking of the Stand By Me movie before I even got to the last paragraphs.  Life is strange sometimes.

Wow.  That's a long time to run a blog, I don't think most ever make it past a year or two though I may just be pulling that oit of my ass.  Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

I think I have a mild summer cold. I'm sneezing like crazy, I have a headache that won't go away, my throat is irritated, and I don't have the energy I would expect to normally have.

It could be allergies, but the symptoms aren't responding to any allergy medication, so that's making allergies an unlikely source of this unpleasantness.

This has been an update on...

I watched the miniseries of Stephen Kings "The Stand" a lot as a teen. Summer colds scare the shit out of me. "You best be careful, Hap. Those summer colds are the worst". I think it was Joe Bob Briggs that said it. Rambling aside, try a neti pot for the nose. Helps with my allergies and my snoring apparently. Good luck. Feel better. Watch out for people named Flagg.
britishdoll:
oh yikes! I haven't got a cold this summer thank goodness (knock on wood). I hate getting colds because they make me feel so tired all the time. Hope you feel better

Earlier this year, I became completely hooked on the podcast Serial. I wasn't alone, as it rocketed to the top of the charts in every podcast directory, and became A Thing for about three months.

Ever since it ended, I've been looking for something to pick up where it left off, in terms of pacing, compelling subject matter, production quality, and intellectual stimulation. I expected...

If you're still hungry for more Serial, definitely check out http://undisclosed-podcast.com/about/ ! They go over additional evidence and details from the case and it is insanely addictive.

My sleep tracker says that I slept for 8 hours last night, but it’s lying. I slept for about 3 minutes, because I spent the rest of the time I was in bed trapped in a stress dream that touched nightmare territory from time to time, but was so weird it’s worth sharing.

I was in a play, but I didn’t know my lines, or...
