I’ve been busy in 1983 for the last couple of weeks, working on this thing that I thought would be about 3000 words, but is now ten times that, and isn’t as close to being finished as I thought.

Yesterday, I worked really hard to get out not a lot of words (under 400), but that’s okay, because I was working on a scene that’s...

@galaxy42 I'm glad you're digging it, man. It's been a lot of fun to write, even if there is a touch of melancholy in there.
galaxy42:
Oh, the melancholy isn't a bad thing to me. I didn't mean to give the impression that it was. In fact, I think it plays a large part in why the bits and pieces are resonating with me the way that they are. It's a bit of reassurance that I'm not alone in the world, I guess. It feels like it was written for me. Again, I'm looking forward to the finished piece. Carry on. 👍

I’m part of a very small, private, online group of runners who share training tips, race experiences, encouragement and advice. We’re a diverse group of men and women of all ages (I think I’m one of, if not the oldest), but we all have a common goal: stay fit, and run more.

One of the women in the group, who I will call E, introduced...

Great advice & shift of outlook. Exactly what I needed to read today, Thankyou

Of my my favorite and easiest things I like to do for Future!Nebula is to make sure I leave one of my favorite songs queued up in the car, so when I'm grumpy about going to work in the morning, I'll get a little surprise that makes it just a bit easier. The little things help pave the way for the big things. I like to remind myself of that when the little things don't seem worthwhile and when the big things seem hard.

This thing I started writing a few weeks ago, which was supposed to be part of a short story collection, has completely taken on its own life, and instead of being a quick 3500 word thing about a single event, it’s become (as of today) a little over 21,000 words about the fragility of friendship, and what that means when we’re at that weird time...

When you're 11 and you know too many details for your own good. I know that feeling. Good luck getting an audition - that would be pretty incredible!

I think when tabletop paused  and fell into limbo that may have put you in a bad place. There is something to be said about momentum and taking a process into your own hands! I hope you keep writing and get the stranger things gig. Also, hope to see you on critical role again to get your tabletop fix ! Also, hope to see more of you in dark matter, Huzzah.

It is, according to scientifically-proven math, eleventy million degrees outside. To escape the heat, Anne and I went to the beach today.

It was just gorgeous. The air was significantly cooler at the beach than it was when we got into our car, the water was warm and clear, and though the beach wasn’t particularly crowded (it is the middle of the week in September,...

If you ever should have your biography written, do it yourself. That text read like a Dickens novel. :)

I opened the window in my office, and moved my desk next to it. It’s hot outside, but there’s a gentle breeze that cools the air just enough to be comfortable when it comes through the screen. It’s quiet in my neighborhood today, except for a lawnmower up the street, and I can hear the occasional train go by, up near the river.

I read...

drocculari:
Of course the window was important because it led to you hearing the train, which led to you remembering reading the story (which you may have only imagined reading) about the kid who let the sounds of trains into his bedroom to remind him there was a bigger world out there, which led to you talking about and providing an excerpt of the story you are working on that is based, in part, on your childhood experiences, that led to the fictional narrator realizing that the one kid's sister was probably cooler that any of you realized at the time. And now I really want to know what happened to her.
gumballhead:
This made me rethink my antiwindow stance.

It took me until late last night to feel like a normal person. My stomach was sick until around 8 pm, at which point my whole body experienced this weird flood of warmth and relaxation that spread down my extremities over roughly twenty minutes. It was very strange.

I wonder if maybe I had a touch of food poisoning, because I ate a little bite...

I was concerned so I'm pleased to know that you're recovering.

Good to hear that you're feeling better. :)

I've stayed up way past my bedtime for three nights in a row, and the last two nights involved lots of loud places and trying to talk to friends in them. I guess maybe I'm dehydrated or something? Because I feel like absolute garbage. My stomach hurts, I have a headache, I'm exhausted, and I keep feeling nauseated. I'm drinking water and emergen-c and electrolytes,...

Have you been sleeping too much?  I know that sometimes I feel like that way when I sleep more than I should have because of my meds.  Like there are days where I feel my brain just hits a brick wall, and I can't function.  I wish I could give you a solution to it. If you hear a good one, please pass it along to me if you could!
kiley:
You know that's really strange because I felt like that yesterday. I think it had something to do with being in a new place and there being a ton of anxiety involved. I was anxiety hungover. :/

Chuck Tingle: one bright spot in the darkness that is 2016.

shinyarmour90:
What's this all about? I can't take the mystery surrounding this post 😵
shinyarmour90:
I need this. After googling the guy and finding out he wrote gay pornography about Trump, I need this.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever made, but it's amusing as hell to me. It's an art project based on my Pretentious Bullshit Collection posts on Instagram. It will be MASSIVELY AND OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED and extremely limited, because that's super pretentious.

It will likely go on sale FOR A LIMITED TIME this week.

baalseraph:
Shut up and take my money! :)

Either something in our air is poking my allergies with a pollen-covered stick, or I’m coming down with some sort of stupid summer cold. Either way, I’m am SO OVER having a headache, sneezing my face off, and feeling like I’m going to suffocate when I’m trying to sleep.

The only thing that’s working at all is Benadryl, which is fine when I go to...

Things looking up yet Wil? I'm so lucky to not have any allergies, but my friends always tell me lots of fluid helps. Feel better!
vincentvega:
Dude. Get some Flonase. My allergies were so bad, that during pollen season, I would develop a sinus infection that would turn into a respiratory infection. Go to the doctor and get a shot of Celestone.  Then go to Walgreens and buy some Flonase.  No more allergies.

I wrote this yesterday. Since it was published, I've read a lot of columns from people who had the same thoughts I did, more or less, with one significant difference: a consensus has emerged that Trump knew exactly what he was doing, exactly what he was saying, and that this wasn't just what he thought was a joke. Trump has a documented history of inciting...

I don't know if he meant it as a threat. Bear with me for a sec. I have a theory. Republicans have been using dog whistle politics for a while to say something without saying it. I think Drumpf is trying to do the same. He can't get the lines right, so he improvs and fails badly. Meanwhile the rest of his supporters on the right know what he was supposed to say and come out to defend. They're on script. He's not. That's why the defense sounds so fake. Drumpf flubbed lines and is wrecking the whole show.
shinyarmour90:
How the heck did I miss this?! That troll needs to step in line before someone does something incredibly stupid because of his encouragement. Take into account for one moment that Trump is and was being serious about everything he says, and that there's a very real opportunity for people like him to enter politics on such a high level?! The republican party must take action. Somebody needs to get him to fall in line.
