You're a mod on Gaia Online? I used to be a pretty active member on there for its first two years. Would you be someone I know?

I have noticed too that this place seems to attract intelegent people, often times I find myself, not looking at the pictures and more so talking to people.

Yeah, I've been on SG for ages. Great little site. Unfortunately I hardly ever update my journal, and when I do it's usually an excuse to plug art or books. I dig the art, reminds me of European comic art. What's your DA screenname, or do you just browse the site?

So, do you think that yaoi appeals to the "fag hag" type or creates them, or some of both? It seems odd to think that a sub-genre could cause lasting social damge. Any social agenda would seem to lose steam when the very meaning of yaoi is "no climax, no point, no meaning." Unless you are saying the problem is not with the creators but the audience, but since it is created to appeal to these women in the first place, it is dealing with stereotypes that already exist and for them to point back to yaoi as anything other than fantasy is redundant. The androgenous/effeminate sexy male dates at least back to the 70's glam scene and I have a feeling young gay males have more to worry about than being pressured by crazed female comic book and cartoon fans.

If it helps, I use PITT pens by Faber Castell, usually the smaller tips, but sometimes a brush tip. Extremely lightfast India ink. I sometimes use dip pens and I'm working my way up to the holy grail of inking - the sable brush, which lets you vary line widths if you have good control of it.

Here, have a ninth a few months later. I liked it, and ill be sure to read your next. Also, please don't worry about being pretentious. Theres nothing pretentious about making a solid effort in mind and time to provoke some thought. Cause all those efforts add more pieces to the real greatness of it.
And it can get that much more apperant to us that there isnt just one simple answer to anything, cause thats pretty pretentious. thanks
