No. Yes we do. Riordan.
I don't care what you say. If we had played him we would have won. I love him. Something about him just tells me he is what it takes. He has it. When we make it next year he will play and we will win.

As for the Old Firm game. God Bless it. I need that game to make my week better. I'm counting on the Bhoys to make it better and not let me down.
They better play that boy. If they don't play him I will be mighty sad with Strachan.

On Wednesday I got one of the biggest haircuts in the history of Western Civilization. No more Hagrid or Viking look, just Paul Bunyan. biggrin

I hadn't had a haircut since Europe, which was some 7 1/2 months ago (damn it feels like a long time ago). My beard was at its most savage proportions ever, but since it was about 50F the other day here...

haha, I bet that was awesome....though I fear the football atmosphere in Italy has gone a little bit wrong just recently!!

There should be a folder of my stuff on my page - Let me know if you can't see it - this site's come all new fangled since I've been away!! urk!!

I'm hoping to be out there for about 3/4 days, all I can realistically afford, means limiting the sights i want to see - Vatican City is number One though and will defintely have one day spent on it - anything you'd recommend??
timskin:
Yeah that's kinda what i was thinking. Either look for a place colse to the Vatican and walk it or camp out near the termini. Though the airport I would fly in to will need a bus and a train to get there but the flights are cheap!!

I think the colleseum has to be done really, just to make some lame gladiator reference and leave again!! I 'm not catholic so don't think I'll be atending the mass but I hae seen that you can apply to go. I think I would have if The last pope was still alive, there was something about him that the current doesnt seem to have.

I've heard it's dirty but that's just traffic crammed in to an old city, London's pretty grotty so quite used to it!! Do I recall right in the bus tickets can be bought for a day and you just scoot about?? I remember getting really confused the last time in Italy - I imagine getting tickets at major airports and tourist areas though will be easier ( and more in English!)

cheers for the help mate

We are under a "Winter Storm" warning.

Really it should be a "pissing down rain creating slush warning". I had hoped that snow would lead to some of the cancelation of my classes today. The hysteria of the Indiana media (remember, a lot of this state is the pseudo south and is frightened by snow) made one of my classes cancel last night.

I still...

Just saw your post in Foreign Film. It's been too long since I've seen La Haine to recall exactly which song you are talking about, but I have the soundtrack to the movie if you want it.

Just a little piece of general advice: Moving is a soul sucking experience. Three, four boxes maximum. A book of matches and some gasoline for the rest. Keeps the mind clear. Maybe I should find a way to express that in haiku to give it more snap.

Take it easy, sir. I am crawling in to a book for the weekend.

I watch the quiet man early in the morning of every st., patricks day. It's a tradition because I'm always out at night when it's on. Great movie, and Marueen O Hara in that movie is right up there with Lauren Bacall in Key Largo and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's as far as most beautiful women ever to be captured on film that I've had the pleasure to see.

Maybe Gina Lolabrgida in Beat The Devil and Domino from Thunderball are up there too.

and Ursula Andress coming out of the Caribbean in Dr. No.

I guesss that's my pantheon
tangledupinblue:
indeed. I will hopefully be in Las Vegas for that figt. Really want to. Excited for Mosely tonight!

Over the years I've never thought that Bloomington was that great of a city and much of that opinion came from the fact I equated the University with the town, and my dislike for where I was going at college translated into me not giving the city a fair chance.

Last year, when one of my friends visited to tour the Law School here we...

I'm amazed the Bears kept it as tight as they did.

So, looks like we missed out on Shalrie Joseph again - just posted a story about a $2m bid on the Celtic thread.

Its officially the last day of the transfer window. I hope when I wake up something truely amazing has happened for my team.

Yesterday was kind of a bummer with one of Celtic's targets signing for their biggest rival so tomorrow will be important for my mood until the the weekend.

I hope all of you that haven't gotten what you've wanted yet for your...

The veggie haggis is good. Just oats and nuts and spices really, I think.

Not bad transfers. It's a shame that Hartley is cup-tied for the Champions League. I think his signing means Lennon will go in the summer.

It took me two days to get the joke, but screw you!

I dunno -- it doesn't look good. I'll have more up on this tomorrow as well. Frankly, I think RSL's ownership screwed it up.

Here is a good idea. Each year, FC Dallas and Columbus will paly a preseason game in honor of Lamar Hunt. The winner will get the Pioneer Cup. This year, it will be in Dallas on March 11. Next year, it will be in Columbus.

The NFL doesn't disappoint, at least one of their stories makes it to the Super Bowl.

Now it'll be fun to see how many bandwagoners are out on the IU campus this week rooting for the Bears or the Colts. My guess is probably more when the Cubs and Sox were in the playoffs.

Oh, and congrats to those fans who actually supported these teams...

Yeah, I was pissed about the HC choice, too. But the more I hear about him, the more I like this guy (like, how he's got 2 sons in HS, one senior one jr, both top rectuits. The senior qb is committed to Illinois and the JR. safety has already gotten a scolarship offer from Texas, but people are still thinking we could get both.) How much coverage have you gotten/read?
tangledupinblue:
that's bullshit - peter has been promised that title fight twice now.

Peter deserves better. Fuck Vitali, what's he ever done but lose well to an out of shape Lewis?

He's the bigggest myth in heavyweight boxing in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

Another weekend approaches. Here's what is on tap.

Friday: A friend is driving down from Detroit to hang out with the rest of us stuck at IU, so my friends are throwing a big dinner thing so we can all get together. Probably eat an awesome meal, destroy people at guitar hero and maybe hit zie bars after that. There also might be a lively...

McGovern is a decent enough prospect, but Brown is much more the finished article, so with farming Marshall out to the Canaries we needed a solid No.2 behind Artur, who may well himself move South in the summer, with Arsenal the most likely to come in for him.

Rumour here today is that James Beattie had a medical at Ross Hall Hospital yesterday before his move to the Hoops. We shall see.
wendy:
the manning story? are you watching this?

maybe if he spent less time acting he would actually know how to play football.

I can hear the songs now....Becks and Landycakes on the wing!

Beckham agrees to move to LA at the end of the season in a deal worth....128m over five years. He'll be making 50 million a season.

Wow.

This is huge for the MLS, now all they need to do is put a team in Detroit or Minnesota and I'll pay more attention.

No we just played some pickup games at the practices. I never really got a chance to play often. But I dont believe I was in the scrum.

Either way I plan to play this year at ISU. I hear we actually have a decent team here. So there will be some hope.

Wow, so the 2nd day of classes and I had to rearrange my entire schedule.

I love how my German Film and Culture class was supposed to be "in English".

Little did I and another girl (and we made up half the class) realize that "in English" actually means exclusively in German.

Yet another false advertising piece of crap from my university.

but remember IU...
