GRRRRR. You know its a Friday in Bloomington when you have severe thunderstorms, torrential rain, golf ball sized hail and tornado warnings. mad

The tornado siren is blaring (it happens to be close to my house) and its 430. Ugh.

One has to feel so safe when they sleep 2 feet from a huge sliding glass door that overlooks woods, with trees capable of totally destroying...

"Fun fact though, Greg LeMond was my neighbor when I still lived in Minnesota."

DUDE!! That is a super-fun fact! Was this after he retired? Damn. He revolutionized the sport.

Another week....

Sigh.

I'm seriously counting down the days until I get to Dublin. Although secretly I'm probably more excited to go to Belfast. A year ago and that wouldn't have been the case.

Speaking of Northern Ireland, I think I'm probably on a government watch list now for the amount of stuff I've purchased or researched via the internet on "the troubles" for my...

Have you heard of Edwin Valero? This guy is the future of the junior welterweights! 19-0 (19ko). 18 of those KO's are in the first round!!

Vs. Hero Bando

His record.

"Holy Crap. Did you see that hail? Unbelievable."

It wasn't that bad here on the south side, I guess. What little we got was big though.

Sounded like a gun shot when it hit the street.

Are they "modernized" clogs or the traditional clunky ones? I happen to work with a lot of Dutch folks and they say that they have to break out the old wooden ones once in a while for festivals, but that they're so uncomfortable and cumbersome that everyone looks like idiots the whole time. I can't imagine someone your size enjoying the experience as it's been described.
fidelius:
only if you want one. its not that exciting. Just thought I would check. You know what I mean?

It reminded me alot of the 4-2 loss to Germany 4 years ago. We were mediocre and were punished for a 10 minute lapse in concentration. The difference being that many of these players won't come anywhere near the squad, as Arena and Keller fumed in the post-game commentary.
pascipio:
Don't I get to enjoy this?

Celtic, that is, not Germany. I am not the slightest bit worried about it.

Watching the Bhoys lift a cup is like watching them beat Rangers; it never gets old!

Congratualtions on the win. Gonzaga will be a severe test.

Mike Davis is a class guy. he had to replace a legend, in a tough league. Against all odds, he got IU to a fainl when it just happened to be Maryland's year. It would have been sad if he wnt out in the first round this year.

Well, I've scrapped my Spring Break plans so no Detroit for me unfortunately.

Instead I've decided to stay at school, get back into my weightlifting routine and try to get some work done. Exciting I know.

I've got to be prepared to teach at a "real" high school on the tuesday after next, not to mention two other projects due that same week.

The work...

That uppercut was nasty!

I think I got James Toney in that one. I'm kinda scared though...Toney is up to 251 or something like that. He might get tired..although I've never seen him get tired. 251 seems like too much for him.

Today I awoke with the biggest calf cramp in the history of Western Civilization.

At least spring break has started. biggrin

IU in the Big Ten tourney tomorrow, let's hope the team can make a run.

I'm sort of picking up where I left off with it as I didn't watch it till it ended when it was airing.

Spring break sounds good. I could do with some time off right now. No real reason...I just can't be bothered going to work!

ninjatech:
Great journal entry. I completely feel you. Growing up in Minnesota myself I also felt his passing as a personal loss.
ninjatech:

I'm just glad he got to be in the Hall of Fame when he was alive and was able to hear the praise from the people in Minnesota who stuck by him through his personal problems.

Couldn't have said it better myself. At least he built up his legacy before passing so he was able to enjoy the fruit of his labor and understand how much he meant to his fans.

It is truely tragic when a prominent figure only gains notoriety after their demise, so in the end at least we can be happy that Puckett was not a member of that long sad list of people.
