That was fun. That song is so unique with it's peculiar mix of britpop & hip hop. I still like Clint Eastwood both the song & the video better than that one. Something about those big ape zombies... ooo aaa skull

Are you going to make it to the event I posted for this Friday on the SGPDX calendar of events?

Yeah, this sitting was the second six-hour session and by far, the most painful...all newly healed skin being re-stabbed thousands of times. I don't dare complain though, she looks amazing! love biggrin

Giggled to see mention of harmonics and esoteric geometry in the same entry...I'm a nut for both. Some of the research I did in college for a book I wrote was on comparitive scale theory...a lot of that dealt with chordal and harmonic unity & dissonance. Fun topic w/ literally no end to it. wink

It sounds like you've fully engaged Spring in all of her glory! I'm looking forward to hitting the hiking trails in the next few days. One of next big purchases will also be a new bike, to whiz around our burgeoning bike-friendly city.

And lastly, girl goo! confused blush wink biggrin

Hey gorgeous, quick question... Thought any more about the freebie SBC account? I may get one going within the next day or so to iron out the photo/briefcase wrinkles and hand over the reins thereafter. I will, of course, bookmark the photos page to better see what has been inspiring you of late. kiss

(could the universe contain such a thing? i don't know). shocked

It was pretty fun. But I drank too much and got a bit ill, as you can see...

I will make you a copy of it! I'm getting better at making mixes that actually use all 80 minutes of the cd. I had to make some painful cuts for this one. Ooh plus there's a song on there that I totally wanted to turn you onto anyway smile

I tried finding a picture of John Belushi touting chocolate donuts as the food of champions, but to no avail. You get the idea wink

Let's all sing . . .

"It begins, as most things begin, with a song.

In the beginning, after all, were the words, and they came with a tune. That was how the world was made, how the void was divided, how the lands and the stars and the dreams and the little gods and the animals, how all of them came into the world....

Hey Star! Thanks for the smooches and sympathy. I not only miss my ma, but packing up my childhood things was really tough. Fun at times -- looking through old stuff -- but totally discombulating too... like i'm now totally rootless in the world.

speaking of the world, yeah... gamelan rules! i feel especially lucky b/c i play in a group that does not only traditional balinese music but also contemporary stuff written for us by balinese and american composers... check us out @ galaktika.org
we're actually going to bali this summer to play at a festival! i can't wait.

hey, bridge to terabithia was one of my most favorite books as a kid... first fiction that actually kicked the shit out of me and made me feel (so much kids lit is garbage). i should really read it again. does it hold up?

still figuring out the whole sg thing... not sure i belong here, but it sure helps having a few kind souls to talk to! kiss tongue biggrin

"It's just human. We all have the jungle inside of us. We all have wants and needs and desires, strange as they may seem. If you stop to think about it, we're all pretty creative, cooking up all these fantasies. it's like a kind of poetry."

You have Comcast for your ISP, right? Do they have any online storage available? If not, let me know if you want a free SBC Yahoo account...I've a couple kicking around. They have both browsable photo storage as well as just plain file storage available. And, one day I'll have to con you into getting on AIM w/ me, at least for 15 min. wink kiss

hey starisea! how fucking cool is this? thank you so much for saying hello. i read about sg and it looks cool but fuck if it doesn't seem intimidating at the outset... on the plus side, i was out taking a walk this fine spring afternoon and was suddenly struck by the desire to take pics and jot down ideas for my journal... kind of a brilliant way to get already thoughtful people to record and share ideas, and maybe make new friends. thanks!

I'd pay to see some dragonflies on you, dear friend! love blush The other tattoo difficulty I've been having is sleeping... Having most of an arm slathered in goo, I've been having to sleep in long-sleeved shirts for the past week. Nothing I care for really. whatever

Still looking forward to proper pictures you're likely to take as Spring creeps into your neighborhood. wink kiss

Here are some snippets courtesy of the LJ meme:

1. Grab the book that you have most recently read..
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal

With this meme in mind, here are the sentences from the four most recent books that I have read.

what cemetary did you go to? I have been feeling the urge to walk amongst headstones lately, for some reason. Perhaps because I have recently become obsessed with Six Feet Under. Have you ever seen it? It's simply brilliant. one of the few exceptions to my "all tv is the devil" policy...
