Changes

Amazing changes. She's untouchably perfect yet so warm against my soul.

Indelible is a neat sounding word.

Thanks to my new SG friends who Subrosa introduced me to in LA. Definitely a fun city and now I know two cool bars to hang at in the Echo Park area. And even better than that I've met some cool people and have a neat story...

Sell Out, with me oh yeah...

OK, so I've been a horrible person at keeping in touch with friends over the past 6 weeks. There's a good reason for this, I swear.

So as my previous blog mentioned, I was planning a big trip to NYC and Boston. The trip was amazing and I thank all of my friends for making it such a good...

Soooooo hot. Want to touch the hiney!

Oh, and OO7 breaks down to LA tomorrow. Boo yah! More about me later. Now I must sleep and recharge the batteries.
misstyrios:
Quinne, Eliska, and Bella are all on the log in page.

(For) just how much did you sell out?
wolk:
I hear you on that....want to touch Quinne's hiney....whenever I'm in LA for more than a few hours, I'll drop you a line. We'll chill and you'll pay for my drinks.

Cruel and Unusual

Clarence Hill, an inmate on death row in Florida, was scheduled to die last night. Apparently he received a reprieve of at least half a day while the US Supreme Court considers three appeals that Hill's attorneys had filed. According to CNN:

"In one of his appeals, Hill asked for a delay to give him time to contest the chemicals that...

Mortimer's Dilemma

So I've been living back at my mom's place for the past month while I find a job somewhere in Cali. My mom's sister Theresa lives with her, also. Just before I showed up Theresa got a new cat to replace her old one. Her old cat was totally crappy. It hated me and was a total agoraphobe. The damn thing would just...

If one of the Meer Borthers even sneezes I am ready to lay my life out for them. Money is no option when it comes to those two kittens.

How did this turn out by the way?

The Rich Coast

So this Friday I'm taking off for some international mystery and intrigue. Should be fun and provide a great alternative to the standard Christmas. Actually, I'll be on a plane for Christmas, but still it should be a great time. It's been way too long since I've gotten to travel somewhere they don't speak English.

'til I get back, I hope you...

What's in a name?

This weekend, lilyk mentioned that I need a new screenname. I wholeheartedly agree. My old one (XtraordnarilyDAV) was originally an inside joke (XtraordnarilyAVG) with Subrosa that I altered to reflect me a bit more, but it still clearly sucked. My original name (tenjqkace) is still unweildy.

For the time being, I like OO7. However, I might change it. Any suggestions?

Ahahaha you want to be back in school? Crazy, man, crazy.

I don't know if it would be accurate to say that I "don't have a problem with the death penalty." I think that it is too often handed out arbitrarily for crimes of uneven magnitude, and that it draws out some of the worst aspects both of unthinking revenge-nuts and the pseudo-moral superiority of opponents who haven't really examined their own thoughts either. I think that it leads to some deeply troubling situations (ex. Cory Mayes -- but, on the other hand, he is very likely to be exonerated because his case has the added urgency of being a death case, whereas he might have sat in prison indefinitely, unnoticed, otherwise. Is this a silver lining? I'm not sure).

As an abstract proposition, no, I'm not troubled by the idea that society can designate the worst criminals for execution. It seems to me that the people who are troubled in that way are the ones who believe that every life has some intrinsic worth and no human deserves such punishment. I can respect that opinion (when it's not phrased in preschool absolutes, as is too often the case on the boards), but I don't share it. I do think that some people are unworthy. By their own actions and their own choices, they have become unworthy. Society is free to designate the consequences as long as they're fairly imposed.

Where I do have problems would be with how society designates that punishment and who the "worst criminals" are deemed to be. That's the crux of my ambivalence on this issue.

Apparently I have moral character

Well I'm finally going to be an attorney because it seems that I finally passed the moral character determination. Yes, yes, it's a surprise to us all. wink

Got to see Subrosa, HelloNurse, Wolk, and even Lilyk last night, which was cool, although they weren't in prime partying form. 'salright, though, because it was a good time. Best...

2 Legit 2 Quit

So I found out on Friday evening that I have passed the California bar exam. That is sweeeeet. Before I can be sworn in, though, I have to pass the background check. It's entitled the Moral Character Determination. Luckily I think it just cares whether you lie or have ever been convicted of a felony before. I should be ok on...

Please fasten your seatbelts

WARNING: This entry is ridiculously longwinded, just like every story I tell. You've been warned

So this weekend I went to Vegas for a little family reunion with my mom and brother (My bro lives there and my mom flew in from SF). I had a nice run of good luck that started Saturday morning with my flight to Sin City....

I'm back.

Thanks to SG for making me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Is it just me or did they increase the size of the avatar on my profile during the past few months?

Oh, and the bar exam is LAME.

Alright, now I think it's time to leave for San Diego. Drink it in; it always goes down smooth.
