Happy birthday, United States of America... oh, and you're welcome.
lucky17:
Thank you for your service brother.
missmalice_:
Why? Did you write the Declaration of Independence? Noooooo.

tongue But yeah I thought about you on the 4th and hope you're doing alright. I have to get one more thing for you before I send out your box. <insert evil laugh> It'll be worth it.

So, I finally got that second dumbbell in the mail yesterday... two weeks after I got the first one.

No update on my buddy yet, which sucks.

In soccer news, been tracking the Women's World Cup... US plays next, gonna try to find it on TV out here
losty:
Canada Post strike is over. I dropped a lil postcard in the mail. I'll send a letter in the coming days.
medicguy:
Good to know, thanks!

So... yeah...

Found out a guy I went to AIT with got hit by an IED... word is he's getting treatment right now, but not sure how up-to-date things are with that...

After hearing that, seems kind of petty being annoyed with the Gold Cup final result, and the US team's horrid performance.

Got you and your family in my thoughts, battle
losty:
I know what you're feeling. A platoon mate from basic survived an IED attack when everyone else in his vehicle died. It's creepy to read it in the newspaper and go "I know that guy".

Everytime a friend is posted overseas, I have to stay away from the newspapers and other news media. Sacrifice puts life into perspective. My brief time in the military intensified my resolve to become a better person.
missmalice_:
Aww honey, he's in my prayers as much as you are. It's easy to forget where you are for the next few months. Keep your head down and be careful. You'll be getting a box from me in a few days so be on the look out wink

A slow, boring day today, which is nice... still a little sore from the RUSHFIT workouts. Tonight is Cardio and Stretching for Flexibility, which should (hopefully) help loosen me up a little bit.

In soccer news, the US made it to the Gold Cup final, so it'll be them vs. Mexico. One of the other medics out here is a big Mexico fan, so it...

Been rather busy with missions, so I haven't had much of a chance to post in the past few days...

Day 3 of RUSHFIT tomorrow (#4 if you count the day I did the assessment), and I am sore as crap... but not regretting my choice one bit. I'm actually enjoying it a great deal!

I've decided to give up on expecting the other dumbbell,...

Do you like the Rushfit better then P90X? I looked the one you are doing up online it sounds great! I look forward to reading your reviews and progress.
medicguy:
Honestly, yes I do, but I think it all comes down to personal preference... I couldn't get into P90X or Insanity, but I'm definitely enjoying RUSHFIT.

The American Council on Exercise did a review of all three programs, which you can find here

Due to an unexpected tasking out today, my RUSHFIT adventure will be starting tomorrow... gotta love the Army
missmalice_:
It's more of a love hate relationship with the Army.

anger by thich nhat hanh is a great book you should read. I couldn't put it down and finished it within a day.
medicguy:
Doxiee - I probably wouldn't get much workout done... though I might burn a few calories

Stefee - Own it, have it back in my storage in Germany, fantastic book

Got my GSP RUSHIFT DVDs in the mail today, though I'm still waiting on the other adjustable dumbbell... going to start the workout soon (maybe tomorrow afternoon/evening, since I have to be up crazy early in the morning, and will be gone most of the day)

Recently, I've been taking some of my newly acquired free-time (since I finished classes) to try to get back...

When I find out I'll let you know. I'm in that phase right now where I'm exploring the option to convert as an investment in my relationship. But then I'm struggling with is it actually worth it? Would it make me happy? I belief in many of the teachings, but I find more direction in the Buddhist teachings when I take the time to sit down and meditate. I will never be Jewish in the sense I wasn't born into it, I know this guys father will never be pleased with that. I'm told his mother would just care if he's happy. He himself says I don't have to unless I want to.
I guess sometimes I feel like I'm too angry to be considered a "Buddhist" that my outward actions don't always reflect the Buddha's teachings but would converting change that? doubtful.

Thanks.. now I have even more to think about. wink

medicguy:
I know what you mean about the anger, which is why (personally) I'm working on controlling my anger, in order to be a more model Buddhist. I've already learned to control so much of my anger that I know it is attainable. I guess I've never had a spiritual message resonate with me as much as Buddhism has, which is why I want to make the change for the better... most of all to be a better me than I am right now.
