Being around severely depressed people all the time can make one.....well....severely depressed. confused I didn't have any damage to my house, but Cortney got 5 1/2 feet of water. Candace lost everything. Dr. Jessop at the vet clinic lived in New Orleans East and lost everything. Mike isn't doing well. Everyone is just so beat down! And this stupid commute across the Causeway every day makes...

I saw my brother's house on Camp Street. Poor Paul and Anna, their side is much worse. The ceiling caved in on the top floor hallway, which is where Anna was keeping all of her best paintings. The closet up there is moldy, moldy, moldy, and she had a bunch of paintings in there, too. It will be a ton of work to clear out...

Thanks smile

There seems to be a bit of confusion in the animal-identifying world over hares and jackrabbits; some people seem to think they're the same thing, but jack-rabbits have those big, spoon-shaped ears and longer legs. ?? *shrugs* Whatever - it's a cool tattoo biggrin

All that Katrina stuff seems so unreal to us over here; we just can't really get to grips with it cause it's so far away.

I feel sorry for the dog frown

That's my sweet little brother at Halloween. All I can say is L-O-FUCKING-L. biggrin

I finally made friends with the old drug dealer who lives across the street from me. She's hilarious. She did ride out the storm, never left because she refused to leave her cats alone. So now she's friends with all the military guys around, and our neighborhood gets patrolled constantly now...

I just got back to New Orleans last Friday. It is very surreal. A lot of stuff is up and running, and "normal". But its the little things that make it so strange. My area got no water, and my house made it with nothing but a broken window. But the house across the street, the one they just finished fixing up, is gone. Two...

My brother said Snug Harbor was really kickin' for Halloween, I've never been. But, I was thinking that this storm may actually produce some amazing bands from New Orleans. Since none, or few mainstream bands will be coming down for awhile, it gives the local bands a chance to really show themselves to a wider audience. There is definitely music in N.O. it would just be tracking it down.

Woo Hoo! I've got a friend!!

Love the rabbit, is there a story behind it? smile
freedomfighter25:
rabbit rescue, that's really something! I've done a lil' with Hope for Animals down here, but not as much as I should've. Kind of a hipocritical Animal rights guy. I researched it heavily, loved Peter Singer's book, Animal Liberation, but never really changed my ways just sort of applauded those that did fight for the cause. Really chicken shit. Now fighting for those with disabilities is my cause. I finally have one.

I finally have a damn Suicide Girls membership! Its been what, 4 years in coming? Ever since I saw the first hot pictures of Mary on my little brother's computer, I was enthralled. I wanted to be a part of it. So, here I am!

Welcome to the site!

Thanks, I love the whole pop art thing, and nothing summed up my new sobriety better than a devil with a bottle.

Raceland is about 45min. West of New Orleans, in Lafourche Parish.

My brother lives in Jefferson Parish, we went down to Bourbon a few weekends back it looks like a party under martial law. The street was full of people, though if you removed the cops and military I'm sure it would've looked rather bare it is so sad. A lot of the women I work with are evacs from New Orleans, starting their lives over in quaint little Thibodaux.
