We remember the beginning, when there was only the ocean, and the ocean was as vast as the sky.
And floating in the ocean there was a seed, tiny as a grain of sand, and as heavy as a great stone. Coiled tight inside it was a dream. This was the first dream, and it put out roots into the ocean. The only nourishment it...

Terrence Mckenna believed that we are here for a purpose. That our existence is not meaningless. We have been bought forth by the Earth to fulfill a purpose. This was part of his theory of novelty as an active force in the universe, the driving force behind events, in fact. This is demonstrably true. Without novel occurances, there is no progress of any sort. And...

Ten thousand years ago, in the Fertile Crescent of south west Asia, under the watchful eyes of the gods of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, an animal that had existed for 190,000 years in a state of egalitarian bliss was corrupted and enslaved by something truly evil.
Agriculture had come to be, and with it the concept of ownership, and civilisation. From that day on, a...

But science can only be created by those who are thoroughly imbued with the aspiration toward truth and understanding. This source of feeling, however, springs from the sphere of religion. To this there also belongs the faith in the possibility that the regulations valid for the world of existence are rational, that is, comprehensible to reason. I cannot conceive of a genuine scientist without that...

You know how sometimes, you smoke too much weed, and you go crazy, but you actually dont, but you think you have, but you havent?
I wasnt sure what I was talking about, but judging by the looks of rapt attention on my two companions faces, It was important. Tonights healthy consumption of indole ring based compounds had woken the great bore within, there was...

Right. I can't stand looking at that particularly melodramatic entry any longer wink

Things are looking up at this end. Basically, all the bad shit that I was terrified was going to happen did, and I came out of it ok at the other end, so yeah. Things are much better.

I have been away. Not in a physical sense, but spiritually I've been feeling pretty detatched for a while. Times of high stress always do this to me, I get so depersonalised and gain a truly flattened affect. People tell me it's like I'm not really there.
I threw a proper wobbly on Sunday, smashed up one of the signs outside work in a kind...

Noooooooo! Tsunami Bomb broke up! frown Laaaame.

I have just booked my driving test for the second of December. The day after my birthday, which means I can't get drunk, but that's probably a good thing! I can't wait to be driving after putting it off for so long, it'll be nice to be able to get about under my own steam, at last.

I...

Hey, have you heard anything about those CDs from Canada yet? Nothing on my end so far.
grahf:
Wow, quick response. I emailed them to find out what's up, so we'll see. I'm not really getting my hopes up, but they could just be backlogged or something.

I used to freak out about the fact that I didn't have a lot of friends. I've always existed with just a core of about 4 or 5 good friends, and never bothered with the whole expanded social circle thing. I always felt I was missing something.

I've realised recently that it's probably a good thing I don't have a lot of close people in...

I would say from my limited personal experiences that because pot makes you dig music more which is unhelpful for ubertweekin' because it gives you a serious case of the "that'll do".

Unless you're never ever ever satisfied, in which case it might help. But the best thing to do is take someone in with you who only cares about the technical side and is quick to point out when you start going in circles.

People say I'm the life of the party because I tell a joke or two. Although I might be laughing loud and hearty deep inside I'm blue.
I need you. I need you
Since you left me if you see me with another girl, seeming like I'm having fun. Although she may be cute she's just a substitute because you're the permanent one.
Outside I'm...

Jamesy......I'm a jerk b/c I've been scatterbranined // I'm leaving for Louisiana and Mississippi to bring relief supplies and such--will be gone hopefully no more than a week. Will you mind (not hating me) the wait? Unless I get down on Monday; I know we're leaving Monday morning. I hope I'll be able to ship for you and Palo in time. If not, crap. Please don't hate me!!! frown
