I wish I had something interesting to report but I really don't. Getting ready to move next weekend. I hate packing and cleaning but the new apartment is nice and costs less.
Jody and I spent most of Sunday talking about food. I love food. I love it so much. I know it doesn't really show but it's true. We went through the Williams-Sonoma cookbook...

Heading up to Edmonton tomorrow to see some friends I haven't seen in a while and to rock some karaoke. Seems likely there will be booze and ridiculousness. Maybe there will be pictures or videos when I get back. We'll see what happens. In the mean time, here's yet another musical interlude.

It was, on a whole, a very uninteresting show. There was nothing in the first two episodes that was compelling enough to watch a third, not even the hope that it would get better.

Black Box games. And yeah, I've heard about the shootings - was a very rare occurrence when I left and now that I'm back... time to do something about it.
I saw my girlfriend for a whole 45 seconds today when she left for work this morning. By the time she got home I was already at work, staring at a computer screen, bored out of my mind. So we didn't do anything special for Valentine's Day. No big, fancy meal. No fun times together. Just work. In fact, I've just gotten home. It's now...

Well... yeah, I thought that was common knowledge.

Hehe I think things like that are a sign things are awesome. I hate that I left behind the object of my affections in Calgary. It's so far away! I'm over visiting 25th march - 2nd April keep me posted if anything interesting is happening!
I need to preface this entry by pointing out how insanely wonderful my girlfriend really is. She took me out for dinner last night to a fancy restaurant. And this is my review.
Teatro
First of all, this restaurant is beautiful. It's in an old bank building. Incredibly high ceilings, wonderful columns, a huge iron gate from France.

We did Teatro for our anniversary last month - if you've got opportunity, the Chef's tasting menu is a hell of a thing, and the 50 bucks extra for the wine pairing is well worth it (according to the man, that is).
It is just too awesome for words.

You should write food columns for the local newspaper.
Do it!

- Yesterday I locked my keys in my car for the first time since high school. Thankfully, one of the other delivery drivers used to drive a tow truck and had all his break in tools in his trunk. Took him 5 minutes to get my car open for me. Woo!

"Break in tools"? Are you sure that he's not doing something else on the side, FP? Haha.
Hmm...the thought of a Canadian News group intrigues me. If it were me, though, I'd probably start by posting more stuff to the Newswire and see how it goes.
As for finding an outlet - what about doing a bit of writing? Start with something small and see where it leads you.
...and yes, Jody is rather attractive (to put it mildly). *insert jealousy here*

Quite out of nowhere, I would like to go ahead and tell you that you don't hate the Transformers movie enough.
heigai:
Did you want to start a fight with people who appeared to have enjoyed it afterwards?
I'm not trying any one-upping, but goddamn do I hate the shit out of that movie.
I'll try to not ruin your morning by going on about it.

I am sitting here watching a TV show about the family with the clown car vagina mom. Currently, their oldest son is getting engaged and they are getting ready for the wedding.
I am not drunk enough to handle the complete lack of sense this family is pumping through my television.
This is going to be an hour and a half of pure what the...

Oh my god, you're absolutely right. I must have blocked it out from being truly, truly horrible.
I'm sitting here watching TV while searching for work. Right now I'm watching a Pizza Hut commercial where they are advertising their new "all natural" pepperoni pizza. I'm confused because this commercial implies that their old pepperoni pizza (and possibly all of their non-pepperoni pizzas) are made of artificial crap. Now, having eaten at Pizza Hut, I don't find this hard to believe. What I...

...and did you see the show tonight? Another good one, if I do say so myself.

My roomie and I had the same conversation about pizza hut and their admittance of making crap pizza.
I guess it's been two weeks now. Time for an update.
Holidays went fairly well. Went out to visit Jody's family on Christmas Eve. Had a nice dinner with her family. I was introduced to "green stuff" which is apparently pistachio pudding, whipped cream and... err... stuff I'm not forgetting. It was far better than it sounds. I also have to point out that...

Great ... now I'm hungry.
Bastard.
I wouldn't be too intimidated by my early success in hockey. I did the same thing in football (finished first after the regular season with an 11-2 record!!) only to lose both playoff games and finish a mighty fourth.
I fully expect the same to happen in hockey.

Couldn't hurt.
So, last night I got to do something I've been waiting years to do. I got to see Thursday live. They have been one of my favourite bands for quite a while and they put on a fantastic live show. I was also lucky enough to meet a couple of guys from the band at the merch table and get their autographs. Geoff, the lead...

I saw this on a sign in front of a church I drove past this evening, and I thought that you would find it somewhat amusing...
Just some random thoughts today:
- I'm really thankful to live in one of the very few countries where a show like "Little Mosque on the Prairie" coudl exist. I sincerely doubt the US, Britain or France would air it, let alone have it succeed.
- I'm even more thankful that I live in a country where domestic terrorism is not really a threat. I...

Ah. Well, I don't know about Alberta in general, but Winnipeg people tend to piss me off as customer. Meh.
Neither of us want to just break it off and go back to the way we were.
As for leaving, this won't be for a bit, probably just over a month.
I'll need to sell of a bit of my things, toss other things, pack it all up, and store it at friends places.
I have money put away for this, but I'll need to get a temp job in the meantime to sustain the savings, possibly add to it as well.
