I almost forgot about that picture. It was quite amusing, to say the least. biggrin

I'm the same way about betting - I have poor luck, so I never bother with it.

It's going to be a clusterfrak, haha.

His ears are cute.

I don't mind papers too much. I just don't like writing papers when they're all due around the same time.

Aw, my brother's a history major too!

So... three weeks just went by I guess.

1) I started (Inter)National Novel Writing Month on November 3rd. I'm still pretty far behind but I'm working steadily and still hope to finish by the 30th.
2) Jody and I are getting a new kitten tomorrow. He's an adorable Scottish Fold from the Humane Society. I'm pretty excited. I get to spend all day tomorrow playing...

Yeah, and it's still kitschy and poorly localized, which is honestly the best thing about those games. I love it when she yells at me in her thick Osaka accent!
radiofrank:
I am intrigued (to put it mildly) by your choice of topic. I trust that it will turn out well...and I hope that you'll favour us with an excerpt or two when it's done.

I remember reading about wind warnings in your neck of the woods. We've been pretty lucky out here so far, but I think that things will start to become more seasonal very soon. Oh well.

My day is going extremely well. I'm telling you this now while it is still awesome just in case it gets screwed up later.

1) Jody continues to be wonderful.
2) Tasty chai latte
3) The ridiculously tasty duck rillettes sandwich from L'Epicerie. I save pennies to justify buying one of these every now and then. I would eat at this place every day...

I want duck rillette now. I have no idea where to get that. Damn you.

So thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

Saturday

Being a lazy, video game playing lump was a total success. Well, almost a total success. It turns out I'm really shitty at picking up breakfast. Jody was running late for work and wasn't able to pick up proper food. So she asked me to bring her food at work. No problem right? I went to go...

If you order pizza, please don't leave your motherfucking NANNY to pay for it. They don't tip me. Ever. Because it's not their pizza. It's yours. Be a decent fucking person and pay for it yourself you useless twats. I'm doing your lazy asses a favour by doing the half hour round trip to bring the food to your door. Fuck you. I hope you...

What's going on? Glad you asked.

- The first show of Scorpio Theatre's season went up last week. It went up with a new technical director/lighting designer. Who you ask? This guy! It's nice to be doing theatre stuff again.
- Need to start sleeping and eating better. Feeling very run down.
- I wish I could get paid to sit around and drink wine...

So... some updates I guess.

The mole removal went well. The removal itself was painless. It was the freezing that hurt. Apparently injecting stuff with a different pH into your body burns like a motherfucker. My arm is a bit sore now and I'm going to have a small scar but it's better than the alternative.

The job interview also went okay but I'm really...

Three hours from now I'll be at the doctor's office having a suspicious looking mole chopped off my arm. That's my big news for the moment.

What else is going on?

- I have a pre-screening aptitude test on Monday. I could become a baggage screener at the Calgary airport. Keeping the skies safe from knitting needles and dildos.
- I've been watching too much...

If Aya ever suggests that you should pick strawberries at some unholy hour of the morning, take her up on it. Yeah I missed sleep. Sure I have mosquito bites. Maybe grabbed a thistle instead of a strawberry... But god damn are these things tasty.

Jody and I made jam.

I guess I just find it more upsetting to work in low level retail in one's 30's with no real career goals. I'm mostly put off by the lack of goals.

And yes, you are indeed at the very least morally victorious.

Since my last update I have:

- seen two of my best friends get married
- played golf on the nicest course I have ever seen (and will likely ever see)
- lost one job
- gone to yoga and reminded myself how out of shape I really am
- almost finished watching seasons 3 and 4 of House with Jody

Now, for something completely...

Sorry to hear you lost a job! You ok?

I've been doing some yoga lately and been reminded of pretty much exactly the same thing. I seem to be going to a wedding tomorrow too. What's with all the hitching this summer?

My number one, all time, desert island album is Jawbreaker's "Dear You". My taste in music has changed a great deal over the years but Jawbreaker is one of the bands that has stuck around and is still in constant rotation. No matter what happens, good or bad (and there's no shortage of either some days), it's nice to have it there to fall back...

...I think that I'm in the same boat as you, FP; I know a few Age of Electric songs, but that one doesn't ring a bell.

As for my desert island record - I think that I would probably pick Depeche Mode's "Music For The Masses". One of my all time favourites.

And here's a bit more of the 90s Canadian goodness for you:

Based on how long I've liked them, my old standbys would be Hole or T. Rex or something. This is Fiona, btw.
