if you were to die today (which i am not planning on!) it seems logical to be grateful for every freaking thing that ever happened to you. a gift called life and all of those in it.

good guys.
bad guys.
the whole deal.
all of it is learning!

its awesome actually if you really consider it.

Yes. There are no guarantees, and we are owed nothing. Life is a gift that we so often take for granted.
ron4164:
Yep, and it's really shorter than it seems.

http://www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/calculator/

whats your carbon footprint?

how much resources do you consume?

mine is about a 6.

5.3 using this calculator (but I had to pretend I lived in Maine!)
the UK Government Carbon calculator - rather optimistically - claims my actual footprint is 3.3 tonnes. You can probably double that, so i don't feel too smug.

splitnib:
"carbon footprint" doesn't mean anything.

EVERY living thing is made out of carbon.

how about instead of worrying about meaningless shit like a carbon footprint we worry about the island of trash in the middle of the pacific ocean that's the size of texas?

just sayin... eeek

i understand completely. it's just that things such as language are constantly changing. it's up to each individual to adapt to it or not. personally, it matters, to an extent. sometimes i enjoy slang western stories from the depression. other times i'd rather spend time having a completely silly conversation in ebonics. don't get me wrong. i appreciate all forms of literature.
nikonphoto80:
hahaha that is so funny, i would love to find that on the side of a building.

more and more i want less and less.
b_writer:
I agree. Who needs all this stuff?
ma2:
when I retire -which won't actually too long from now -I just want a modest house or apartment somewhere quiet. I have no desire to have a big house or rooms full of stuff.

I resisted Twitter for a long time. Created a profile but hardly ever touched it for a couple of years or so. Forgot my login. Finally caved. I'm still fairly sporadic with it, but it is nice to have a place where you can just quickly toss things out into the ether. There are often cool things that come in from the folks I follow, and it is also useful to keep up with someone you know in offline life. I'm not exactly a Twitter zealot, but I will continue using it for the foreseeable future. smile

what would this writer be doing? i wish i could help you out, i know some professional writers, but i'm not one myself and the ones i know are really busy.
bellyjack:
What is the nature of the subject? I don't know any novelists, and can't help you there, but might be able to recommend and advise on technical writers.
