23 hrs until my best friend arrives into town biggrin biggrin biggrin
24 hrs until I get out of class, make it back to the East Bay, and start drinking with a rather diverse group of my friends, including said friend above. eeekeeekeeek
27 hrs until SGB in SF... lovelovelove
44 hrs until I turn in this god awful Writing and Research Assignment. If anybody knows how to properly cite...

Apparently my last post invoked the wrath, or at least mild irritation, of the Gods. I think I may have been suffering from Hubris. Dammit.

Addendum: woke up with this song in my head this morning: the day is already looking up.
YOU CAN'T BREAK, ME DOWN
YOU CAN'T BREAK, CAN'T BREAK ME DOWN
YOU CAN'T BREAK, ME DOWN
YOU CAN'T BREAK (nah nah nah...

Hiya! He ^^^^^^^ mentioned you might have had a spare ticket for the Friday burlesque. Do you still have one you'd want to sell?
twinkie:
No worries! Thanks for keeping me updated smile

its all good.

Excellent news. Hopefully the roll will become a streak, then a trend, then an accepted norm.

Yeah, I got my Wifi to work in the GGU Library...there goes my law school career. Seriously though, I was beginning to wonder why I just bought a new laptop if I was going to still have to fight for a terminal everytime I needed to send an e-mail. Now, all is better.

In other news, I am still doing well in school. Although today's...

Them too. Its a big list.

Oh, and while we're at it, I can't forget Chekhov and PKD.

Let's hope the UN charter does work. That is good news.

It really sounds like all is well in your world! Awsome!!!!

What are your classes???

As for the Apathy question I had, I feel that it may have been misworded. See I have been noticing that in a lot of ways we have educated oursleves enough about the falacies of the system (as a whole) that it seems to justify for some people (not you ofcourse) inaction. They seem to be content simply feeling that they can never change anything, or that all governments are curropt, ext.

Fuck It... 7.5 hrs of studying is enough for one day. Not to mention the 2hrs of class. I think I'll scrounge up some dinner, and then go to bed.
nixon:
Huh. Maybe- The Sounds are playing here this week, so it's actually posssible... that would be funny. I once terrified the keyboardist into running from my hotel room in the wee hours of the morning...
marisa_dimattia:
7.5 hours does sound enough! Good luck with law school. It has been about twelve years since my first week of law school but I do remember the stress of it all.

I'm going to say something that sounds crazy: enjoy it. The study of law can really be fascinating if you look at it beyond not looking stupid in class. When I think back, I wish I savored the luxury of just learning instead of worrying about what kind of job I would get afterward.

reasons?
basically, Im just realizing (once again) how many people i really have to count on....
few and far between. And Im not just talking good friends. I dont even have people to hang out with, which is why I am always such a recluse.

whats the reason for you?
redheadedleague:
Heh, I gotcha. It's similar to my friend's reaction at work when somebody says we are behind schedule and there is more work: "That's friggin' awesome!"

Funny thing is, most of the managers don't get it.

Well, I survived my week of pointless orientation. Although I managed to not actually see any of the SGSF folks all week, I still had a great time hanging out with an old friend, and meeting some new people. I can't say that I am wowed by any of my classmates yet, but then again I have always been a bit of a misanthrope so...

I'm going to 55 shows. I have no perspective on this matter.

I would love to say that I think it will never be broken...

That would be the day I have dreamed off.

Your schools sounds amazing. I love the all digital format. Plus I must say that I was not impressed at first by any of my peers in my program. But, after a year two of them have become some really really amazing friends of mine.

I will be staying in SF all this week for orientation (sund-thurs nights) if any of you want to hang out, just PM me, or call me if you have my number.

P.S. I just saw that you can't live without your D&D supplies. Do you play 40k, or anything by GW? If so there is a cool group on this page you should join.

It has been a while since I have updated here with anything resembling a quality post. My attention has been split on the internet front between SG, Myspaz, and LiveJournal. These sites are the biggest distraction on the net for me these days, but the old standards lurk in the shadows. Such sites as Daily Kos, ACLU of Northern California, QC , and...

I must quickly do a blog entry so that I can avoid having all of my birthday wishes being attached to my last, less joyful entry....now back to the party planning.
