Brain Beats Brawn
I clocked this taxi driver giving mega-verbals to some girls in a very girly VW while I was cycling home tonight.
This didn't, sadly, inspire me to race to their aid. In fact, I barely registered it until the taxi nearly took me out of the game as it raced away up the wrong side of the road (ie mine) while the...

Have a great Hogmanay! xx

Everywhere I go I always take the weather with me! In that case I must have been in the Arctic Tundra before moving to Edinburgh! Hope my Ice Queen mischief didn't ruin your plans for Hogmanay!

You cycle! With these hills!! Impressive!

Aww man, I just dropped my Homer cup. I wasn't even quick witted enough to utter a "D'oh!" as it happened.
It's a shame, I only picked that cup up because the Simpsons tonight was still making me laugh (The first Danny DeVito one, before Homer ruins the company and makes him a bum).
*UPDATE* I've just noticed that I cut myself when picking up...

this is an old entry and i hope things have start sparkling since then. what happened with the girlfriend?

its an interesting point you raise about advice, i've been thinking the same recently... its weird how alot of the time we operate as independent people but so often you need reassurance to function properly, and to know your plan is the best...

relationships suck whatever happens, its nice that ur girly cooked ya grub, i hope its either worked out or finished by now.. the worst is when ur in limbo too long...

hope to see you at an sgs meet soon! smile

Oooh, I went on a train today that was full of other people I didn't know. Fortunately, I didn't have to sit next to any strangers and I got as many free biscuits as I could eat so it wasn't too bad.
Annoyingly, I know I could've driven to Aberdeen in much the same time as it took on the train and maybe enjoyed the...

Yes, I have, although I only actually stayed for 5 days (went back to Cambodia for New Year). In my short time there I did the Cu Chi tunnels (120m of pure hell for a claustrophobe like myself) - they're only Level One, but (much) further north you can go down to a Level Three tunnel. Lotte and Anna, two Swedish lassies we hung with in 'Nam (and who subsequently came back through to Cambodia with me) went, and said the air was well unpleasant. Still something you have to do, though, much like visiting S:21 and the Killing Fields if you 'do Cambodia'.

There are also monuments and exhibits all over the place about what they refer to as 'The American War' - had Will and I stayed long enough we planned to do a trip down to the Mekong Delta, no doubt firing imaginary machine guns while yelling "Cum git sum" in really bad American accents all the way. Seriously, though, the whole war thing still rankles the national psyche, so if you do travel to Viet Nam I suggest you wear nothing that could lead anyone to think you're American - they still hate 'em with a passion.

And thanks for the compliments - the style is deliberately conversational, as it's mostly for the benefit of people who've actually met me and so is more like a Dave Allen monologue - I leave the more formal writing styles for the paid stuff wink

Ah....I think there is a longer recovery time after the appendix. And it was only the fringe...not the back. And don't worry - I've not shaved any star shapes into my hair....yet.

I went to the ironing board and turned on the iron, left my t-shirt sitting while the iron got up to temperature and went off for a wee-wee. Came back and found the iron was cold.
Yesh, dear reader, I had actually turned the iron off.
The last time I ironed was Tuesday morning. Yikes.

SGUK/SGScotland meet last night was brilliant. I love them all kiss

Ah... the charming messages that find their way to me in the name of SGScotland, the tiny regional group I babysit.

Recently, I cleared out over a dozen members who hadn't posted in ages. Rather than just kick them, I thought it was fair to send a message explaining what was going on and why they'd been booted.
I received only one reply, the...

I've spoken to her a few times a while ago on MSN and she always seemed really nice, clearly she may have a bit of a split personality. She is on the SGUK list to come to Edinburgh with us at the end of the month though, so maybe the two of you will get on brilliantly! kiss

The Elvis Sandwich, as I know it, was introduced to me only recently but I have embraced it with such aplomb that I feel it's become a big part of my life so I should share it with you all.

It's basically a generously spead peanut butter sandwich, though before closing the sandwich you should lay a whole sliced banana on one side of the...

Thanks for the add (they say that over on myspace but I'm sure it still applies over here)! The sandwich sounds incredible and will probably smash to pieces the health kick I like to pretend I'm on. But damn it is tempting.

Man, I totally owe you an apology - I was taking some new shots of myself for my new profile pic, and I noticed that I do, in fact, look like Grigori Perelman, the chap you mentioned. I never really noticed the thickness of my eyebrows till now. The resemblance is in the beardiness, the eyebrows, and the particular type of blue eyes, I would say. Curious. Still not sure about the Rasputin thing, though. I'll keep my mind open. Rasputin's Christian name was Grigori, as well - ooooooooooooo EL SUICIDO LOCO biggrin

Haha, whoops. You should come to an FIA drag race sometime. I bet our car will make you jump!

Ok. Average SB Chevy normally aspirated : 300-500hp. 6/71 supercharged : 500-800hp.

I think the drag is a minor factor.

I had an amazing birthday, best for years.
I usually feel like I fail in some obligation to have a good time at my birthday but this year it's been really easy to have a good time and lots of people seem to thrive on that which makes me happy which makes them happy. What's the opposite of a vicious circle? It was a bit...

I keep myself safe in being wary of all men, arsehole type behaviour or not. Probably cos most will change any type of behaviour for the chance of regular sexual intercourse with a girl they find a turn on and can actually hold a decent conversation with. tongue

You too. S'ok....it was funny. And as I've said in his journal (blog/whatever), my word of the day is grapist.

Apologies
I'm having a dead lazy week so this will be a shitty journal.
A really hawt girl in a trendy juice bar has suggested that drinking some vile concoction once a day for a week will give me renewed lust for life so I'm going to go each day, watch her make them, gulp 'em down and see what happens.

Some of my triumphs...
