That cephalopods are taking over news story has been showing up all over the place recently. I doesn't really seemed to be based on any really good studies though. It's from an article by a 'science writer'. It makes sense though and I know that there are a lot more humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) off the coast of central California than there used to be.

One of those news articles inspired someone I know to make this shirt:

Get yours here.

good friends, you have indulged and endured my sullenness long enough. a study has just been published (i'll footnote it later...) that shows the power of positive affirmation in no uncertain terms. it followed three groups, one which was given the task of writing down the three things which royally pissed them off each day, one which wrote down three things each day that had...

oh, i'm sorry, bad things often happends after each other. it sucks but you can't give up and feel bad all the time it's not making anything better. do small things that you really like and make you feel better, even if it's just for a little while. hugs.

Dearest Friends,

I have lost someone very special to me, suddenly and without warning. He was my physician, but he was also a true friend to myself, my family, and all who knew him. He called me the day he died just to see how I was doing... I am struggling to make meaning out of this shocking and senseless tragedy.

Todays Lesson: if you...

Sorry for your loss friend.

That is an important lesson, sadly nothing teaches it as well as the loss of someone close.

Dearest Friends,

I just saw a PSA for tsunami relief which featured Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. sitting side by side and appealing for your dollars. I'm not entirely sure why, but somehow it was the most deeply unsettling thing I have ever seen in this world. Thoughts?

Far more importantly, however, my new favorite tv show is Matlock. Now there is one cat...

experienced an unwelcome first this evening: got a headache that was so bad it actually made me puke! the whole thing started in the library stacks trying to find ancient volumes of The Nation, volumes which the computer says are there, and yet are not.

Wow, 1967.... I'd like to see a pic of your car. I know what you mean it's creepy when someone you dont know is in your stuff... or using it, it just feels scary. Maybe we shouldnt care so much about "just stuff" but its still fucked up. I got annoying head ache, I think it's because I havent had Pepsi for two days, really, I think I'm addicted to it and I have to stop it.

Love your profile pic by the way even if it's a bit blurry it's Emma smile

Got zinc and vitamin C, it's always good to get sensible advice though, thanks.
I think getting out and walking helps too, it gets the blood flowing around the body, hopefuly speeding up recovery.

That link makes me wonder even more about the US armies ulterior motives in the quake zone, there have been problems with muslim extremists there.
Don't get me wrong, what they're doing is really good, it's also a chance for a bit of positive publicity after the last few years, and maybe a few other things too.
Darn, it was supposed to be perspective in a different direction, sorry about that.
