I watched City of Lost Children for the first time last night. It's a wicked film (in every sense of the word). Top 20, I'd say.

On deck for this evening is City of God. I've heard an immense amount of praise, so I'm optimistic. Pistol Opera was scheduled, but POEE mentioned that it was likely far too abstract for my taste. He passed...

Well, shit. And I'm in Coffee News every tuesday with three old men, discussing writing.

Chicago is a big steaming pile of a city, where there's no culture and people mug you because they have nothing better to do. Tell your sister that.

Classes are - thank Christ - over for the term. I only have to work the kinks out of one paper before I bounce-out of Beantown on Monday.

Normally, I hate going home to CT for more than a few days. I love the 'rents, don't get me wrong, but after living in the city for more than four years, being in the boondocks always...

I have the first draft of the story I'm planning on submitting to you done; I'm hoping to get a final draft (or close to it) sometime this week.

As for a sobriquet...I'm stuck. I'm sure I could come up with a nom de plume for writing when the time comes, but I suck when it involves a clever internet handle for myself.

smile Thanks. I may argue politics on the internet all the time, but I'm actually a graphic designer turned code monkey.

My parents - in yet another display of their infinite coolness - are buying me the latest copy of Quark Xpress as an early Christmas present. I never even asked.

Mercurial typesetting, iku!

"Varekai" is awesome.
flux:
I just checked for it. It ended up in my spam folder. Silly.

I'll see what I can do, but I've been blocked up mentally for quite a while now.

After six months of working for Starbucks, I have a new definition of being slapped in the face: getting a "raise" of $.12/hr. Twelve motherfucking cents. My manager actually said to me, "Dan, you've done a really great job. That's why I put in the pay raise before we sat down for a formal review; I didn't want you to miss-out on the money."

I...

For some reason, I feel like I am living in left field today. *shrug* Maybe a clove and a Zombie at TheTiki Room will right me again. The bar borders Fenway, so, if there's a Sox game, there'll be *great* people-watching too.

Edit: Okay, drinking and watching "Strange Days" in my apartment works too.

Cross your fingers for Mercurial. The potential for sheer...

The two things on my mind right now:

1. If my professor tries to hijack my anthology just one more time...

2. "The Book of Love" by the Magnetic Fields. It's quite possibily the coolest love song ever.

The offer still stands if you want me to take a look at it. I do have a bit more free time, now that I'm done writing. wink

Yeah, I got it. Sorry for the delay in respone; my ethernet cable was being used for system link Halo. Anyway, I think it sounds like a very cool idea and, on top of that, and idea which should elicit a pretty good grade from the professor. Unfortunately, I don't currently have anything in the works, but I'll give it a shot and if anything with any merit shows up I'll email it to you.

Despite waking up slightly hung-over this morning (after the SG Burlesque Show), my first thought was of how much I love Suicide Girls.

Missy is genius.
