I'm spending my Saturday night watching Lost in Translation. Weirdly it's one of those films I've always wanted to watch but I've never gotten around to it. One of my friends mentioned it yesterday, I saw it on Netflix tonight so figured "fuck it"

I quite like Scarlett Johansson from around that time, she was in Ghost World just a couple of years earlier, which...

"Intensely + consistently happy." Probably a big ask there! My brain's too fuzzy to elaborate at the moment, nudge me some time soon and we should  chat about it!

Life is good at the minute.

It seriously feels like I've walked through a door and locked it behind me.

I'm potentially moving out in around 2 months. It's closer to work, it's closer to Manchester. oh, I'll also be gaining two cats! d'aww! One of them hates people, she tolerates me, so yeh, that's love right there! (she was found pregnant, abandoned in a...

Today I took a big leap forward in self contentment tonight.

I deleted people from facebook that were negative influences on my life, or people that I've just grown apart from. It feels good to have closed a few chapters of my life down.

^___^

I walked home in the rain. My waterproof jacket is perfect! ... For pouring excess water directly on everything below my waist.

I got changed, looked in the mirror and yeh, that's rain water, I haven't wet myself. It's time to hug a radiator now

I think suffering 3rd degree burns would be less painful than waxing! @arly

Can you smell burning? >_>

I have a thing for cover records. I've been on a bit of a discovery mission on Spotify recently, and I'm massively appreciative of internet with a data cap!

I like listening to a song and hearing it in a completely different way from the original. The best, most obvious example that I can think of, is 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash/NIN. I didn't even realise...

So Mad Friday, the last working Friday of the year for blue collar workers everywhere (or just in the North, apparently), is the time when you're supposed to go a bit "mad", let your hair down - I did exactly that! I fell asleep in a bar because I'd eaten too much.

Now, that, that's hardcore!

All the guys in the lab went for a...

@trills I will do :) It's going to be a pain with my shifts at work, ideally Friday/Saturday/Sunday would be best. Thanks for the offer of help

I need to be more active on here.

I'm not looking forward to Christmas! I never do, it's a horrible time of year where the original message has been lost forever, and it's replaced by a version made by corporate whores, who just make you feel like you need the latest aftershave, or gadget, and yeh, I hate forced fun. It's the same with New...

I'm quite liking this year so far, I've taken up reading again!

I love the smell that books have, I love kindles because you can store ALL THE BOOKS on one, but they don't smell...? A dilemma, for sure.

I actually started reading Jurassic Park. It's one of my all time favourite films, I was like 10 when it came out in '92. I've been...

@trills  @8bit_jesus  I don't enjoy reading books on a screen.  I like to hold a book, physically turn the pages etc.  Actually, audio books are what I really enjoy.  In high school and college I competed in speech, primarily in the various oral interpretation events.  Later, as a college instructor, I coached a speech team and also taught courses in oral interpretation.  I really love the performance aspects of a well read book (fiction and nonfiction alike).  Of course, on this site, "oral interpretation" likely spins minds into lord knows what all sniggering mental images.  "Sorry folks, nothing to see here.  I'm speaking about the dramatic reading of literature. I know . . . I know,  you're disappointed. Now move along."

Today I am happy! I was in a record store in Manchester earlier and I found this! It's my favourite album of 2013, which is kind of a big deal in itself because I generally don't list to albums. I love songs from albums but rarely love the whole album.

Not only have they got the best band name, they've got some immense records. Check...
