I seem to be unable to conjure up anything remotely interesting to say this morning. I am in the (hopefully) latter stages of getting over a cold, so there's that excuse. Usually I can find some sort of discussion topic just by looking at the day's news, but at the moment I'm coming up empty.

There is a long list if stuff I need to try to accomplish this weekend, and writing this blog entry isn't on it, so I guess I'd better get my arse moving.

Before I sign off, I do have some good news. It looks like I'll be making a return visit to Alex's Bar in Long Beach, CA. I attended a Groovie Ghoulies / Fabulous Disaster / Dollyrots show there several months ago (it was the last time I saw the Ghoulies before they broke up). Anyway, Lynda Mandolyn of Fab D has a really cool new side band called Sassy, and on Sept. 15th they'll be playing a show at Alex's with The Donnas and The Dollyrots. After I stopped racing at the end of the 2001 season, The Donnas were the first indie band who really rekindled my dormant love for rock & roll, and I still have a lot of affection for them. So long story short, I had some unused airline credit from a trip that got canceled a while back and it worked out perfectly for me to be able to go to this show. Looking forward to it - should be a blast.
