In turned out that me avoiding my family over Christmas was a smart move as they were all paralysed by food poisoning. New years eve was interesting I managed to get to Brixton from West London in two hours by night bus. The thing itself was well, it was just people out of their skulls. I got some really nice presents including Black Books wich is hilarious. The flat at the moment is like Greenland. There was a great deal of excitement before Christmas as there were about five fire engines a load of police cars and a couple pf ambulances and some special branch vehicles outside the estate. I said to my parents in the car - keep going which I have always wanted to say and I think I said it with panache. Also I got some budgie dvd's. I got the usual load of shit from my cousins. My sister got me some great stuff. I have also gained a new fridge and laptop both of which I needed. The highlight of the holiday season culinary wise was Dave's special which consists of beans tomato (grilled not tinned)muchrooms black pudding sausage egg bacon hash browns 2 slices of bread and butter a cup of tea all for four quid. I also read a superb book by Cyril Connolley called the unquite grave which is good if your thirty and gloomy. I also got some Playboy DVD's which were abysmal. I must say that Penthouse have improved as in the past a lot of their stuff was genuinely bizarre. I also got my myself a copy of the new SG DVD but Her Majesty's Customs have put a charge on it. Bastards. Though now I wish I had got a Roy "Chubby" Brown video which I think would of put me in the festive mood. I assuaged the sense of guilt I had for leaving my sister in the lurch by getting her the CD's she wanted and a couple of things by Hockney including a DVD of his only film: from the sixiies.
